I started thinking about this too. I think some of the sprites like Sephiroth don't have different color palettes. I haven't dealt with changing palette colors so I don't know how easy it would be to add new ones to the sprite sheet.

Adding/changing palettes is very easy with a combination of Palette Editor (care of Xif) and GraphicsGale, it's just in the case of spritesheets that are made incorrectly, it's not as simple as a palette swap.

Kinda have my doubts on the Male Dragoon that Twinees did looking like Kain

The Locke sprite wasn't finished, nor was the port,

Seushiro didn't import the ports correctly on all of his sheets, they use colors from the sprite, and will need a bit of work to
make functional.

However this isn't why I'm here.

I actually like the idea on paper, as it would make it feel like a FFStyle RTS job selection system... kinda.. However, have you thought of
making a ASM hack to change the generics names accordingly? Or do you intend to still have them use their generic names?

Also, I'd ask that this thread be continued in the NEW PROJECT IDEAS section. The spriting section is for sprites, concepts and
critique on the two. Patch ideas belong in NEW PROJECTS and you can still ask for sprite locations there.

It really warms my heart to see people so excited over this, and I'm really glad chapter 2 is being so looked forward to, but you don't need to spam emotes, guys. Still, thank you for your continued enthusiasm! it's what really keeps us going!

Help! / Re: FFTEVGRP and ShiShiSpriteEditor problem
November 08, 2014, 10:14:17 pm
No, there is no problem... Those sprites don't exist.

Some have formation sprites and portraits, but no they do not have sprites. These EVGRP entries are NOT tied to anything.
However, you can use the UWEntries spreadsheet to edit which EVGRP slots are linked to which sprites.

It doesn't have anything to do with Shishi not displaying them. You can access all the actual sprites in SPR form in the iso via CDMage/CDProg.

If you want access to those events, download EasyVent Super Perfect, and don't forget to check the Wiki for the newest config.ini
and event commands.

Just wanted to Chime in and say that spritework IS getting done again :D

It may still be a lil bit until Ganon is finished for the Ch1 re-release but it IS being worked on, and the walking cycles
are about done. Keep looking forward people :P we shall not disappoint.

Spriting / Re: Please help me with this Sprite

As I mentioned, this sprite was done by Seushiro
The thread is on the same page as this one.

Sorry, I'm not a spriter, I cannot help with that.

Seushiro added in the portrait incorrectly. And the Palette from the portrait is incorporated into the first column of the palette
which is not right. Those colors for the portrait should be in the 9th palette column (sprite is column(s) 1-8, port 9-16)
You also cannot share colors between a portrait and sprite.

Maybe someone will be able to come fix this for you.

Actually the port uses its own 16 colors and they need to not be any of the colors used on the sheet outside the portrait...

You likely have the sprite set to the wrong TYPE as well

The issue with the changes is cuz as Vanya mentioned the sheet isn't finished. 9 of the head frames arent switched over

My above note was directed specifically at Raven, all you would do is rename them to the correct name based on the event and put it in the same EVSP folder that contains the events, overwriting the one currently in the folder with this one, which will fix the issues in the versions of these events current used in EVSP. So yes if you are editing the FFTComplete events (for some ungodly reason) you would put them in that folder, or the normal events folder if you were just editing vanilla events.

Also, just another note for Raven

RAVEN, I think in the desert fight against Balk, the battle event needs to be fixed as well, IIRC

Your iso size wont change much from what it originally is, once you are done you will make it into a PPF which will include all the changes between your iso and a vanilla (unedited ISO).  These PPF files are generally quite small, as they ONLY include the changes, and are patched to a vanilla ISO.

Xifanie made a tutorial for it here:

First time I seen Dome not being random and spamlord-y, just being helpful.

That's because this is his mod, not spam.

Next time don't comment on something unless it's helpful to the topic.

Event Editing / Re: My event is ending early.
November 01, 2014, 10:54:47 am
Did you make this event from scratch? I'm curious as to where all the 3E commands are coming from, as that is generally used at the end of any event rather than the beginning. (That's the color screen effect)

Any reason you haven't updated to the new config.ini? Might make it easier on both you and the people helping.

Try commenting out the 3E commands as well as the WaitForInstruction 0C commands and see if this helps.
Also, get rid of the second {63} command. You only need one in this instance.

Event Editing / Re: My event is ending early.
November 01, 2014, 12:22:17 am
When posting an event, please post the whole thing. My guess is that it's the offset, or specifically that you didn't remove the Text Offset before compiling. You didn't post that part though :P

There are several reasons this can happen, so let's start with that.

(Also, when I say to post the whole event I literally mean, hit Control+A then copy and paste the entire thing, dialogue and all. Events aren't one of those things that you can just paste a chunk of and try to debug it, since this issues can be caused elsewhere, such as in the dialogue themselves, offsets, etc)
