We don't have this issue with Jot5 and every skill in that is custom in one way or another. The only broad hack we use that affects skillsets (atleast in the currently released version) is indeed the hack Xif mentioned above. No idea what you are doing wrong.

Timbo, yeah Pokemon ASM on the gameboy is easy as pie too, but in all fairness, this aint that, lol

Its not a problem. Its simply either a flag in fftp or elsewhere. Ive never had this issue in a mod ive worked on, so i know the flag is there an available. You are just missing it.

What version of tactext? PSX or WOTL? If the former, use Xifs texthelper instead

Japanese version of PSX FFT actually references FF7 quite a bit as well. In the sound novel 'Diary of Nanai', you meet Don Corneo, a chocobo named Sephiroth, chocobo rider Joe, and a few others.

M-Fiction Novel and Diary of Nanai also both have references to Materia, and the former also has reference to The Promised Land.

The Lounge / Re: FFT T-Shirt Design
« on: May 11, 2019, 03:26:42 PM »
Some of you folks might be interested to know that for the RPG Limit Break charity speedrun marathon going on right now, TheYetee has teamed up with them much like with the Games Done Quick folks and has some new t-shirt designs including one for Tactics. Link to that design here. A portion of proceeds goes to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness which has more info about that organization here.

Here's a quick look at the shirt design:

I don't think there's too much FFT apparel out there but this one is pretty accessible.

So I love FFT, and I love the GDQ community and any community that does runs for charity. They are extremely noble causes. I would love to support and i generally donate something, but I have an issue with this... Not the idea behind the shirt, but the design itself. The thing is, speedrunners earn a lot for these charities because they are really goddamn good at what they do, and they deserve every bit that they earn for these charities. However, in my opinion, this shirt does not... This does not feel like an FFT shirt to me... The contrast isn't very good, and the design itself is weird... like, what exactly is going on in the background there? Only the one front Chocobo looks correct to me and none of the characters are really distinguishable aside from maybe the Wizard or the Horn on the summoner...

Idk, I'm not trying to shit on the idea, because it would be great to see some _good_ fft apparel, but back to my previous point, these runners make a TON for charity because they are good at what they do, and I feel like whoever made this shirt, frankly, is not... This seems like a really lazy design to me that could do much much better... Never once have I played FFT and thought, "ya know what would make this look great? greyscale"

Again, not trying to shit on the idea or the runners by any means, I respect the shit out of them, and I will donate as I always do, but I personally don't think this shirt is worth it at all. Sorry if I'm being a downer.

I like the version 1 eyes better. I do like the way this is progressing though. Good job man. Your portrait abilities have improved vastly since you first started on FFH! Just gotta get better about avoiding that pillowshading. It comes with time and practice though :)

So thank you so much for I was doing this so wrong haha! I appreciate you correcting this for me my apologies. So however I am getting this screenshot of when I run the ISO, however. Should I try using a different ISO? I attached a screenshot of the error message I'm getting and don't quite know what I'm doing wrong on this part because I haven't launched the game yet it's a fresh download of war of the lions. Should I just try using a different ISO then or is there something I'm possibly missing? Thanks again for helping me out on this!

Are you sure its an ISO and that you dont have it compressed as CSO? FFTP does not work with the compressed .cso format..

We were able to make this phoenix summon with it. Along with a hack that makes it damage enemies and revive allies within its area. Of course the latter bit was not done with the effect editor lol

You should check out Chotos Effect Editor. It lets you edit most thing involving effects and how they work.

Because whatever you did made it only animate once before it stops moving lol.

It's not just the link, I viewed your post and checked the site it's linked at, only 1 animation and stops. Downloaded and then uploaded the file directly here, same thing...

Then I said fuck it and downloaded it directly from the link, and opened it on my laptop. Only 1 animation and stops.

(This is true for all versions of it that you uploaded, and I thought i was being alone in confused that it seemed like you kept uploading still frames lol)

X and Y coordinates are part of the Battle Stats. So... mayyyyyybe?
I dunno, it's not anything I've come anywhere close to trying. Yet.

Dont think it would be quite that simple, but ive been wrong before

PSX FFT Hacking / Re: One Extra Job Hack (OEJ)
« on: April 26, 2019, 07:25:12 AM »
I remember him working on it a bit. But i cannot confirm that its 100% now. Im aware that im standards are incredibly high, and it may be fine to use. But until its shown to be 100% without load delay or buggy, i wouldnt recommend it without a buttload of testing for whatevee patch its used on (refering to RAD)

Technically you could use event commands and variables to get the unit's X and Y, and possibly use the same to move the unit...

Buuuut that's pretty complicated. And it would still require events to accomplish, it couldn't be an every-battle thing.

I see. In that case its doable in one battle with several conditions.

How did you intend to switch from normal sprite to the altima sprite? Thats not a thing. It only happens in elmdor battle based on very specific callfunction command and ENTD settings. Wouldnt work without being preset ENTD and there is no going back after transform.
