That sketch of the portrait that you are doing for Zozma looks like a great base.

Sephy is almost there. You need to do something with the hair on the left. Maybe bring it a pixel or two in towards is face and have it be longer.

i shall leave you to your work on your own sprite :D

There we go, blue eyes!
crazy, you did the portrait using only 14 colors, leaving me enough palette spaces for 2 more shades of blue.

I would definitely suggest adding some of those shades of blue to her cloths as well, they are a bit flat. Her hair also looks like it needs one more shade for some highlights, especially on her bangs. But not necessary by any means.

Seph keeps looking better. I am the point that I think I need to just do a few tests to see if I can figure out what is bugging me about it. Do you mind if I play around with it a bit?

I hate to jinx things... but I think Smash is the new Curu... except hes a guy, so he wont go running off after Voldemort becomes obsessed... then again, if Voldemort does become obsessed with him, we may have an intermission on our hands.

Wait a sec.. This sort of stuff goes in the request thread guys.

Im only doing free portraits for the time being, to get a hold of the style; no sprite sheets as of yet, although I might do a pose or two.

Besides, im just a FFT style starter newb who has done less than 5 portraits, and hasn't finished yet his first sheet. You'd surely be asking for a disaster lol.. :P

rofl, disaster? have you seen my mist mage sprite? xD

Anyways i can take a whack at it myself, but the portraits are where im REALLY lacking... i cant do one to save my life...Zalge got one started over in the Necromancer thread of the Symbols of Rage forum. it got a decent handle on it.

It does belong in teh request thread, but no one is going to want to make 'Just' a portrait. i do want to try to do a d ecent job...but i need a pretty portrait for when i do :3

i really cant wait to see the full sprite myself. it takes quite a bit of patience to make one and then test it out.

Which brings me to the question, how long does it generally take to make a full spritesheet?
Sain, right now is taking me some time, due to me drawing all the parts myself over the sheet form scratch, and making sure the animations look smooth (sprite preview on Game Maker) every time. It could take a while, depending on the amount of free time I have.

sometimes a sprite can be done overnight, but usually you already have arms from something else if thats the case.

sometimes, making things from scratch can take weeks, and some people simply give up.

At the rate im going, this could take me more then, since im a somewhat slow spriter.

Heh, but not worried though, I've done bigger sheets before; some im even still working on them.

That portrait for Zozmas new character is rad. Only complaint is the super dark edge under the chin and around that little square gap made by the hair, neck and shoulder.
