no its one huge neck and i mainly use it for taping and a side note i have never played a fretted bass

fretless isn't that hard, you just have to remember to place your finger on top of where the fret would be instead of behind it, I added fret markers to mine so I wouldn't be as lost during a song

eh i dont get lost anymore but that might play into the fact i do a lot of heavy neck slaps and pops
