This has been known ever since the mod first released. The Bard and Dancer were not combined into one job slot for a few reasons, namely because all of the documentation for the vanilla game has them as separate jobs. For the ease of modding, as TLW's second main purpose is as a base mod for others to use, this was kept the same way, meaning that they continue not to get spillover from each other (it's shared with each of the DK jobs instead).

From the other topic:

As The Lion War was designed to be a patch as a starting point for future patches, I will be releasing the resources created to build it here.

The PPF is for playing the mod. The Resources are for making major edits to it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but male Dark Knight JP spillover is going to Dancer job for females instead of DK. Tested with Agrias. I may have overlooked this being mentioned.

I'm so insanely excited I've been shaking lol! I can't wait! I wanted to get on here and ask if folks were going to update/create software to mod it, but I'm sure it's gonna happen. There are a couple things I'm worried about, like the roster size. If they don't have at least 30-40 slots, I'll be very, very disappointed. Ever since 1997 I've thought that there should be roster space for every special character, several generics, and at least 1 for each monster type. I hope it happens! What is everyone else thinking??

Been working on updating the Ogre, Giant, and Iron Giant. Sorry about the way late response, but life has been hell for 8 years.

The newer sprites should be much more in line with FFT -- I hated the Ogre when I saw it in game recently. I need to really fine tune "Duma", too.

Edit: still not happy with it -.- Will work on it some more over the week.

Edit2: The wide hips are gone from Ogre and Giant. Ogre is recolored. Uploaded it as .png

Any chance we could get an optional patch reverting Knight Swords back to being one-handed??? This is the one change from this mod that I simply just do not like. If it also rebalances them around being one handed that's fine.

Maybe if possible give them innate passive Doublehand when using them with an empty off hand. This is also something that generally makes sense to just be a passive thing for some other weapon types too. Like Spears and Poles. Rather than taking up a support ability slot.

I always imagined tactics Knight Swords being more of a Bastard Sword/true Longsword rather than being exclusively two-handed where as standard Sword is either a Shortsword or your usual Arming Sword meant to be used in a single hand (though that being said the Platinum Sword is depicted as bastard sword size in official artwork of Chapter 2 and 3 Ramza wielding it, and Ramza equipped with the Platinum Sword weapon skin in Dissidia NT)

Bit of a weird one!

I have a setup whereby I run emulation on my CRT TV using Batocera and sync the saves to my Steam Deck (via SyncThing).

I'm wondering what the best way to play is, to hopefully utilise the screen formats of both.

I have NEVER played FFT before (I had to google answers to register to the forum!).

So, I'm wondering a few things:

What's the best way to play at 240p?
From reading, it sounds like I want the PSP version but ported to PSX, but otherwise completely vanilla. I'd like to be able to experience the game as someone would have on PSP but in the PSX aspect ratio so I get integer scaling. Is The Lion War a 'vanilla' port? I'm confused by some of the things mentioned in the list on its download page about 'new events' etc.

Can I play in 16:9 on Steam Deck and share saves?
A secondary question, but assuming the first question is doable, is there a way I could share saves to Steam Deck but have my Deck version of the ROM run in 16:9? Totally fine if not, 4:3 on CRT is my biggest wish, just thought I'd ask!

In summary: Can I play vanilla PSP FFT at 240p? If so, can I play a compatible version in 16:9 and share saves between the two?
