Don't be hasty to start your own mod; all our FFT modding projects are greatly understaffed. Find out how you can help in the Recruitment section.

Event Editing / Re: Event Give Away!
April 04, 2017, 11:40:55 pm
Yeah, sorry, now that I'm in uni I'm a touch too busy for something like that :P Events such as these where it's basically people standing around and talking before a battle starts are pretty easy to put together though! You'd be surprised :)
It sounds like you have the wrong tool selected then? Instead of the magnifying glass get the selection tool.

but for people who are alternating between this program for editing most things and Xifanie's editor for managing squadron layouts, saving directly to .OUT will probably be a huge time save.

Absolutely! This is my favourite update so far.
Help! / Re: Strange Errors - ASM patches flawed?
March 24, 2017, 01:21:11 pm
It sounds like you might have started out with a corrupted ISO file. If you want to check to see if these hacks are actually the issue you should get a new ISO file, test it out vanilla to make sure it's fine, then add each hack one by one and test every time to make sure everything is fine.

Unless one of these hacks overwrites another and that causes issues, but it doesn't sound like any of these should be having an effect like that.

Yeah that's about it. There's just too much broken about it, and Dome doesn't seem to be around to fix it so don't waste your time.
Hacking/Patching Tools / Re: Special Snowflakes v1.00
January 23, 2017, 03:35:55 pm
Makes perfect sense! Got it to work too,

For anyone interested about how the sizing looks, that's some regular goblins next to some small green goblins (10/16 size, +75 green) with some larger goblins on the right (24/16, which might be a bit much :P)

Also the graphics that display with the unit (such as EXP gain or damage) also scale with the size, so with tiny monsters, expect tiny numbers :P

Well, I tested it out and I got some super weird stuff to happen, so that was pretty cool!

I'm still a little confused as to what goes in the ENTD tab (I feel like I'm missing something that should be pretty obvious), is ??? supposed to be the ID of my snowflake? (if that's the technical term :P) The two boxes after that, FFTPatcher only goes up to FF in those areas so you can't quite type in 169 or 16B, but different combinations in those areas gave me some interesting results :P

Sorry if I'm just missing something obvious. It has been a while for me since I last used one of your amazing spreadsheet hacks.

Call of Power: Chapter 1 to 3 / Re: CoP Battle logs
November 27, 2016, 10:52:29 pm
Ah, that's ok! I did all of chapter 1 and most of chapter 2. It's as good as I remember it! I did notice that the battle against the two teams of assassins and the battle against the old tree were quite a bit easier, though maybe I was just playing better or got lucky or something. I remember back when chapter 2 released the old tree battle went on for quite awhile and had the tree using a ton of spells on me, this time around it only got one turn before I finished the battle. Not necessarily a bad thing as I think that those battles were too difficult before, and balance is hard :P

Excited to see chapter 3! Maybe I'll let you know a bit beforehand before I stream. I was just recovering from a wicked hangover the other day and decided why not :)

Streaming some COP!

The Lion War / Re: FFT - The Lion War
September 06, 2016, 05:47:26 pm
I believe this has something to do with the game removing units and then placing them back without re-adding their initial or innate status'. You'd have to check in Vanilla as well to be sure though.

All those Don't Acts :'( I knew this one was a lost cause for me when I saw all those white robes and other element blocker / halvers. GG Silentkaster

(All those 69% Lay on Hands and 50 something% Don't Acts though :P)

Holy shit what did I just build?

I only came up with this team on one night and did not test it on Arena even ONCE. Because back then my only concern was submitting on time. And after seeing them perform... I only hope dw6561 can forgive me.

Also, why is my team color blue? That's not the color I asked for back then. That being said, can you please do one thing and keep it blue! I seem to like this color better now.

I fear I have submitted a lesser version of Skiplooms team...
Anyway, good show so far everyone. Looking forward to the rest of the matches!
Playing this again, having a blast! I'm in chapter 3 and the story is getting better and better as I go from battle to battle!

Anyway, just letting you know that this is a really fun hack you've made! It's a little rough around the edges at certain points but I'm having a great time playing it.

I wish I had been writing things down to give you a real bug report but there's a lot that I could comment on that I would save for a more thorough going through of the game. Right now I'm kinda just running through story missions.

In the Umaro sidequest, all the Yeti's are dragons with black palette swaps! I'm in the middle of the battle so I don't know if Umaro himself (if he appears) also suffers from this.

EDIT: The chemist in the second fight isn't actually there.

Not a bug but I totally one hit KO'd Orlandu with a Holy from Jenna

Alma seems to flagged as male in the windmill shed battle, because when you kill her she yells like a man.

There are a whole load of other things that you'd see right away if you replay the first or second chapter too, but I'm sure you're well aware and are just more concerned with making progress. Really good job man, it's a lot of fun!

Frost Titans
have been the hardest encounter yet, especially the first time because I totally wasn't expecting to run into a battle there. I probably had to reset like 4-5 times to complete it. After almost getting to the end (thanks to buying some ice shields) I was screwed over on my second to last attempt by
but I worked around that in my last run and made it through. The challenging battles are really fun to play because the characters are all very powerful and you really have to make the most of them in these fights.
Cool idea, but two things:

1. This is a sprite request section, if you want a sprite made, ask here (though no one is going to make it for you, I'm 100% certain :P). Maybe make a new topic in this section for your work!

2. Your colours are very saturated, on both the sprite and portrait, try toning that down a little.

I'm now baffled by this post. lol

Yeah. That might've been some helpful info to start with dude :P
Hype! Good luck everyone!

EDIT: Ooph, those Defense Rings and Armlets are going to tough to deal with in my first match silentkaster!

Well it's probably time to try a new emulator then, since it seems like you've tried lot's of different solutions thus far. I highly recommend pSX, which most of the other people on this site will as well.

This is the download link the site offers for it, http://ffhacktics.com/w/images/f/f7/PSX_1_13.rar

What version are you using? The site recommends 2.0, and I know 1.7 runs the game pretty well (though not for bug testing or realistic emulating purposes :P)
