I can answer 1 and 4 for you, the other two hopefully someone else comes along and answers.

1. If the target has another tile over their head, top down skills can't hit them (think under the bridge in Zirekile).
4. Vertical Threshold limits your ability to target tiles within the specified Vertical range that you put on the ability.
So for example, Black Mage spells that don't have that can be targeted anywhere within the range given no matter how high or low and then only the aoe is subject to the Vertical value. A skill with a Vertical threshold will only be able to go up to or down to the distance specified in Vertical for targeting AND the aoe spreads only that much as well.

You have to modify the games ENTD entries, yeah! There's no pre-packaged thing you could apply that does it for you.

What you can do is download the map editor (Ganesha DX found here https://github.com/Garmichael/GaneshaDx/releases ) and you can look at what UV data specific tiles are using, GDX allows you to then export the textures and palettes which you can use to get the image data you need.

I would recommend trying to run CDMage as an Administrator, just a guess but maybe it doesn't have the permissions it needs to create the folder it wants to.

Also a reminder to create backups of your files! Admin CDMage I don't think would ruin anything, but making big changes to an ISO by importing stuff can be a bummer when things go wrong

I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much! Thanks for playing!

There are definitely some balance issues but I think overall FFT is at its best when things are a little lopsided ;) I think future content will probably see the rise of physical units a little more in usefulness just like in the vanilla game (where magic falls off towards the end).

Leviathan was a ton of work to put together but I'm glad you liked it so much! Can you tell much less design time went into the end of chapter boss? Haha

I think I will put out a guide some day, I definitely ensured that you could do everything that 'matters' in one run and still make it back in time, that was very important for me to keep track of during development.

I hope you enjoy the other projects this place has to offer!

You have to click the emotes at the bottom of the various messages, not the ones that run along the side. By 'reacting' with a specific emote you gain that role.

BUT I can see that however you are using Discord it is not showing you everyone's reactions at the bottom of the messages. Are you able to add your reaction to the messages at all? That would stop you from gaining the roles otherwise

Leviathan Map Fix


I am now working on what is imo the worst offender on the Reach The Future bug list: the Leviathan Boss Fight new map incorrect textures.

It's supposed to look like pic 1 and does about 80% of the time... The other 20%...

Revert New Poison / Regen


In Reach The Future (unlike regular FFT) the effects of Poison and Regen are reversed while Undead. While this was a cool idea, the AI is completely unaware of this change :( It would be difficult to make the AI react properly so this mechanic will be removed from future versions.

Lots of work is being done on understanding the AI of this game now and in the future! So there is hope this mechanic could come back again one day.

Blood Suck is Tinker


In vanilla Final Fantasy Tactics, Blood Suck doesn't come up in battle often. I wanted to give the player the option to try to use it (because I love shenanigans) in Reach the Future, so Vidalia Knights got the Spreading Plague ability... But it doesn't work as intended.



In the games data there is a skillset for "Blood Suck" and I thought I could put any ability in there and the AI would use it. Wrong! Blood Suck'd units will always use ability 00C8, which in Reach the Future is Tinker



Easy enough to fix (and the easiest way was to shift Blood Suck back to its original slot and move Tinker elsewhere)!

New updates incoming! I've been posting bug fixes and updates I've been doing to prep for releasing v1.1 on Discord and Twitter and neglecting the forum, so I have a few to dump all at once.

If you travel from Serenham to Serensward triggering a random battle, you might have noticed something a little off about an AI allied unit... She's completely naked!
Let's get her some items.

For now, enjoy the one piece of official documentation I have actually created, the RTF Job Tree ( / more like a requirements board)

They will generally say what they do, and most generate an XML file that you can apply to the game with the FFTOrgASM program.
