Asmo suggested very similiar helm few pages back, I even tried to do it, but it turned out bad, I will stay with OK.

Here is sprite I'm working on(for Mercenaries)

It's only one frame, and I'm having dificulties with 16 colors, but I know how to fix it. Btw, it's female lancer.

I dont know what anything is on this sprite. The yellow thing under the neck, the white thing on the shoulder, the other yellow bits around the helmet im taking to be hair but they just look like random patches of colour. The blue is too saturated.

Let me post reference picture. And "the yellow thing" under the neck is scarf from Wiegraf, "white thing" is part of armor(look at pic), and those yellows around helm are leftovers from base, I will delete it. Btw, it's strange that blue is saturated, cause it's from black mage...

A reference picture doesn't solve the problem.  It should look understandable to people who haven't seen the reference picture, otherwise players who try it and haven't seen it will be baffled at what they are looking at.

Gotta agree with him on this one. The reference picture should be a tool for you. While you're only at the early phases of this sprite right now, that doesn't necessarily mean that we should be confused as onlookers.

Dont know about the saturation thing. It happened to me once with the knight's red cape. If you apply it to basically anything else it looks horribly over saturated.

The worst problem is that Male Dragoon helm got 5 shades, probably that is why it look saturated, I think I will try female dragoon helm. Btw, this sprite isn't confusing for me :/ Probably because I made it though...

Female helm don't look good, I must copy whole helm, not only upper part, otherwise it looks like crap. Give me suggestions on what parts I could use plz.

While waiting for suggestions, I did Lezard from Valkyrie Profile, before you begin critiques, let me say that I was forced to work in MSpaint(wich I actually hate) to do this one. Sugestions on this one appreciated.

-change the hair color
-Knight's cape and arms are overused these days so I think, you could base the
arms and cape from Vincent Valentine, and modify it.

To wich color should I change color? It is almost the same as in artwork so I dunno to what change it. About Vincent sprite, I don't know if every part will fit, but I will try. What about clothes, are they good? I did them in MSpaint so I thought they will suck.

Lezard! By far my favorite character in Valkyrie Profile! For his base look, or at least head, the Zefane sprite might be a decent starting point.

Lezard is my favorite from VP as well, that's why I'm doing him ;).

About Zefane, it was this priest Mike did right? Is his full sprite sheet somewhere around?? I think I will darken Lezard cape a bit, what do you all think?

I'd have used Vormarv's head, but whatever. Good work. I don't have too many suggestions for the Dragoon prototype, since I haven't seen any changes, sprite-wise. Wait for Asmo to finish the male Dragoon and take that helmet. :P

Amazing Mike looking at the sprite I see it too has glasses. . . ^__^

@Kage your base looks fine to me actually just a head change since even the knights head is overused. . . I also use MS paint so there shouldn't  be that much problems with quality
