Quote from: "SilvasRuin"No offense, but that looks horrible as is.  It also looks nothing like the traditional FF logos, the way LD has said he wants them to look.  It is a very nice image on its own, but plugging it into the game like that ruins both.

Awww...really? Sad...
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

It has potential to be adapted into a good logo.  I'm just saying... it needs some work before it will look right for the purpose.  (And to clarify, it looks awesome when it isn't being crammed into the game.)

So meaning the art that winshmo made should be scale down before putting it in as the logo?
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Scaled down more and scaled down better, at the very least.  It is also missing the traditional shading and color gradiation.  Here's a whole page of logos to compare to:  http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Logo ... al_Fantasy

Note that most are also very close to the size of the logo (albeit with a portrait orientation rather than landscape or a roughly round shape for most of them), the exceptions being huge ones like XII and ones like X that border the whole logo.

Well it's meant to be a silhouette in the style of the other games, I don't feel that does very much justice to both the title screen and the picture. I think Winshmo has a good idea, for such.
"Moment's anger can revert to joy,
sadness can be turned to delight.
A nation destroyed cannot be restored,
the dead brought back to life."

I agree 100% with Silvas. The image is awesome on it's own, but it will take careful modifications to fit right as the logo and resemble other FF logos. Also I'm not 100% that same image will do to convert it into the logo. It's marvelous as concept, but to achieve something like the original logos you'll want something smaller, with more black parts. If you look at the picture it's like 90% white, and the borders and such are too thin to convert into a FF logo. Maybe if you make the striped shades into full black shades it'll work better..

IDK if I'm explaining myself properly...

Tsk. Sorry.

I didn't say it was good after all. It was pixelated and does not look like a traditional logo.
I don't feel well.

but still.. I would like to defend myself.
First of all, have you read and seen the link in the past pages!? I requested what you want.
I also posted a tutorial for making a LOGO there. Go to page 7&8 if you want evidence.

I know what FF logos are, and I know what to do.
Also, in that post, I rush it a bit. I must say, I'm impatient.
I wanted to cram. Well, if you want to show what you can do to the image,
then go. Find a way to help somehow. Also, the logo depends on the image.
I didn't make that, so there.

I'm not good at editing line arts so i didn't bother placing more black.
But, I KNOW WHAT A FF LOGO LOOKS LIKE.

Except for that first comment, all of my recent ones here were directed at jimmyjw88 (and you'd think the context of the posts would make that fairly obvious).  I was pointing out to him why I thought the way I did.  Don't be so sensitive and don't take things so personally.  Only one of the comments were meant for you anyways.

Also, for the record, I am fully aware and fully admit to being entirely unable to produce half as good art as the artists here, and you will never see me claim otherwise.  Considering that, criticism of the constructive kind and inputing opinions is about all I CAN do.  If you would rather I stay silent when I see flaws, then I'm afraid I have to disappoint.  It's like Asmo has demonstrated time and again:  people need honest criticism if they are to improve.

dont take it out on mike, i think he was just a tad bit excited and wanted to see how it would turn out if it was converted into a logo.. but that piece was made for bg purposes and such it would not look well and would be far off from actual FF logos..

Hmmm...the logo is part of the background and technically has to be 16 colors, right? It's gonna be tough to make it look good with such limitations...

EDIT: Nice new logo! That one may be easier to work with.

I'm sorry for the trouble and misundertanding that I've caused.
Silvas was just explaining it to me what and why he feel as such about the logo. All the comments were meant for me.
Well, I apologise for such misunderstanding; Silvas and Mike. Sorry for being instigator.
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Winshmo this is really really good, wow. My only comment is that Ramza's head looks a bit wide for the angle he has it turned at. The proportion it just a tad off maybe. But really great and I look forward to seeing this as the background image of Mercs. I can't wait to see what it will look like once you color it.

Now THAT looks absolutely like a legit logo. Great work!

Also, don't take it too personally Mike, we were just saying.. we weren't insulting or anything also. And if I was able to do something like that I'd have offered my help. Your work is awesome guys, but still expect a little of criticism (like good ol' Asmo would say).
