Quote from: "Cheetah"Shadow of the Colossus is such a great underrated game

You're kidding right? It was extremely well-reviewed. In fact, I think the scores were probably a bit too high.

Same here.

If your going to make a game with only boss fights make it simpler to get from fight to fight or I'm going to chuck the controller and quit.

Sadly that is why Koizumi won't let me review this game, quote -> "Because you are not capable of understanding it's brilliance."
Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, bringing torment and pain to others. Oh damned soul wallowing in your sin, perhaps...it is time to die

I didn't mind the riding around in SotC. The world was unbelievable. It was the gimmicky boss fights that annoyed me. I especially hated anything that shot crap at you.

True enough the whole get on the thing and stab the glowing part was just awkward, especially when it was flying around with you on it.

I just think Shadow of the Colossus and Eco are games that everyone should play, and it makes me sad that everyone hasn't. Great games and creators who don't get enough credit when they should thus there aren't many games with that kind of atmosphere around. Zack and Wiki on the Wii is another good example.

Brigandine -- PSX

I've had the iso for some time, but back when I first tried it there was a freezing problem.  But that's all been fixed now.  Its an Atlus SRPG.  It plays very similar to the bastard child of Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre, or dare I suggest it has some Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Dynasty Tactics.  You've got towns to attack and defend, and each battle is hexagon grid based.

It's AWESOME.
Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

That's sitting in my folder waiting to be played as well Phil! I decided to go with Vandal Hearts first though. It's a SRPG as well, pretty fun with some difficulty too. Forces you to play defensively or get your butt kicked, at least early on. And there is some class advancement too with branching class paths and the like. I'm quite enjoying it so far.

Okay I beat Killzone: Liberation for the PSP. A very well done game and a perfect play for all shooter fans on the PSP. I will be very excited if they end up making a sequel to this. Yeah too many good things for me to say about this game and I have no complaints.

So after taking out the PSP version I took on the original Killzone in attempt to satiate my desire for Killzone 2. I think Killzone has a few flaws that kept it from being a bigger success. First off it starts out really slow and it takes a while to get all the playable characters, which is when the game really starts heating up. The different characters adds depth and replayability to the game, but the level select screen and system really don't lend themselves to replays because they don't show how well you did in the level before, who you have completed the level with, etc. I think I would still be playing the single player campaign if it did. Also there are essentially no unlockables or bonuses of anykind. The game as a whole is quite good though with the highlights being the story and characters (odd I know). Plus playing it on the PS3 really seems to cut down on the technical glitches which is a plus. Oh and most of these replay deficits I'm talking about are mostly amended by the great multiplayer.

I'm still making progress though Valkyria Chronicles, the anime just started up and is quite good btw. I made a lot of progress in FFIV on DS on my last vacation.

I also just got Excitebots on the Wii and that will likely suck up a bit of time. I think Excitetrucks is a very underated game and this new sequel is totally awesome. I would really recommend people take a look at both because they are great arcade racers.

Retro Game Challenge for DS. A very cool idea and a very fun game. It is especially cool since I randomly started watching the subbed Game Center CX episodes which this game is based off of, I didn't even realize the two were related till I started up the game. If you have any appreciation of old school gaming you owe it to yourself to give this game a try. Plus the sequel is coming out in Japan and we wouldn't want them to think we didn't like the first one!

I'm playing Tactics A2 and Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time.

Really great games, though I get the feeling A2 is a little maligned around here. Really, it's a solid game, with tons of things to do (most of which I don't), and the graphics (especially the maps) are vibrant and beautiful.
Echoes of Time is a really great multiplayer experience, much greater than either of the other main entries in this subseries. Honestly, I've not had so much fun with my roommates in ages. The ability to accidentally pick up your team-mates can be annoying when trying to pick up items, but on the other hand can be truly hilarious. We were in a lava dungeon, and my best friend gets a phone call, so he sets down his DS and leaves the room. My other roommate and I just picked him up and fooled around with him for awhile. When he got back, we'd already been through three rooms, carrying him.

Both great games, all in all.
We will build cities in a day, we will build towers to the heavens. We will be heroes.
This sleeping city doesn't know what's coming. She doesn't feel the heat.
Even when the darkness surrounds us, we shall light up the night.

I've been playing it for a while. It's fun, but it doesn't feel as much like Suikoden as I'd like. I'm having fun with it, but I'm not gripped and moderately obsessed like I was with 1,2, 3 and 5. It's fun but not up to par I guess, still worth playing though I was just hoping it could rival the best in the Suikoden world and I don't feel it does.

Final Fantasy 5+

Small hack by Jorgen; Greatly increases the difficulty of it. its like having to relearn FFT for 1.3, except i was already playing FFT like crazy.

When i started this un, i had to take each jobs flaws into consideration, and switch them accordingly. unlike the first playthrough, where i used what i thought looked badass.
