She prepared mentally. She was getting ready to turn on the tear ducts. There is/was no time to do anything physical if your post has the captain of the guard witness the final few ninjas die.

If you are asking if she was preparing in a similar fashion to how she did in the forest, then no. In a city, there are fewer places she could leave her belongings without risk of them being stolen. High in the branches of a random tree is one thing, but a city full of people is something completely different.

Did she stay by Taichii's side? Sort of. She embraced him from behind trying to calm him. Then Taichii posted that she was still apparently clinging to his back while his character was dancing around doing crazy stuff to kill the last few bad guys. I made that be her duplicate. She teleported a foot or two off his back wherever he was at the start of this post. Her double would remain attached to his back for a moment or two before fading on its own. With everything Taichii did in that post, I can confidently say the image would have dissipated long before the guards show up.

She did not go invisible. She simply stood in the middle of the ally, sans wings, looking around for ninjas or guards. Now those guards have show and it is time for the performance.

I feel no need to hide the fact that it is indeed a performance, as I believe it should be obvious by now.

If you're going to go for the charm/entice/mind control, make sure you be subtle about it. If the captain suddenly declares everyone to back off and withdraw, they might assume he is under some kind of control and will move to protect the captain.

A battle like such would have probably made noise loud enough to be noticed by the nearby people; but why did it have to reach an end like this; before someone was able to take notice of it? Was the place surrounded by a barrier? Was some magic blocking the sense of people nearby?
