FFT on PSN and modding

Hi all, ive been a long time fan of fft and recently having played XCOM got the bug again to play. I had it on PSX naturally but now am seeing the PSP version and all these great mods. I don't have a PSP. So i was thinking the PSN version which seems to be WotL and not just the old PSX version. However I wondered if there was any way to play/apply any of these hacks on the PSN version. without a PSP, is my only option to play hacks to emulate either the psp or the psx version with hacks? Thanks!

If you want to play a modded version of FFT, emulated PSX is basically your main option.  PSP mods exist but are rare because modifying that version of the game is more difficult and no one's really taken interest in cracking open other versions of the game such as the PSN, iPhone, etc. releases. 

The majority of mods people make though are only compatible with an emulated NTSC version of the original PSX game.
