delete character placement and sounds

Hi,

i wonder if there is a possibility to delete the character placement in the beginning of a fight, so that u can put the characers you want directly on the real map. (hope its clear what i mean)


second questions is how can i lower the volume of the ingame sounds, so that i hear only music?

I think it would be impossible to get rid of the character placement grid and do it on the map instead, my thinking be that if they could have done it that way they would have.

Lowering the volume on the ingame sound effects is also something I'm unsure of. I'm sure that you could just change all the sound effect file's data to 0000 or something, with a hex editor, but that would permanently remove them.
