Hi all, from Spain... I'll do my best to speak correctly...

I'm new in the forum, and well, I have enjoyed a lot, playing FFT on PSX, and PSP, and I found this forum while surfing searching information about how to get sprites from the game.

I've searched the forum, and found in a post, that the best way to get sprites is using ShishiSpriteEditor, having the ISO of the PSP game, but it doesn't work, maybe I did a bad ISO from de UMD... I tried also fftpspext to get the sprites manually, but there are a lot of files with extensions that are nothing for me, and get stuck again...

Since Im at work now, I can't figure out what happens, so I want to ask some information about Sprinting so when I arrive at home, I can continue learning how to do it.

- Reading some posts, it seems you can get the sprites of the NPC, Ramza, Delita... all of them. Maps are included like sprites? ShishiSpriteEditor can extract the maps also?

- I would like to ask if you can put custom music or sounds in the game. How can I locate the original sounds and how can be transformed in wav?

- Same goes for the videos, is there any way to get them and convert them into other format?

Many thanks for the information you can give me, I want to learn how to figure that questions. After that, I will try to prepare to learn how to make custom sprite...

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards

Well, I've got an fine iso, and when I try to load it with ShishiSpriteEditor, using the PsP option, a bar appears, and in a second it disappears. If I choose de PsX option, the bar starts to load sprites, but the sprites that I get are with rare colours.

Any tip about this?

WELCOME TO FFH, WHERE ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE

First off, sorry, I'm not versed at all on the inner workings of the PSP version of this game.  But, make sure you are using the latest version of ShiShi, found here:

http://www.ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3446

That shishi can probably rip your ISO a little better -- you might even find the newer sprites too.

As for maps, they are a vast and complex set of data, not easily pulled with shishi.  For example each panel has at least four different true height values (this is how you get slopes, for example), a composite height value (used for determining range and effect), terrain type, and such.  There's been some headway made into Editing Maps (also in the Hacking/Tools forum, I think), but it's a bit cumbersome for someone without coding skills.
Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

Philsov, thanks for the warm welcome :)

For PSP (The thing is more complex, but I'm still recollecting information from several threads, but at the moment: )

- Shishi doesn't load with the psp iso with the current version. With an older one, picking the SPR files one by one, I can take de sprites, but it seems that doesn't find the new sprites added to the psp version, maybe they are in other file/dir? Dunno still.

- Map Viewer doesn't work with the PSP version. Obviosly, the directory structure is different, in the psx version we have several GNS files, that they can be read, but the PSP version only have one GNS file, and when I try to open it, Map Viewer close.

- FFTEVGRP  has the same behavior that Shishi, I can edit the unit and worldface with no problems, but I'm only getting the original characters, not the new in the psp version.

---

Well, reading and reading post and posts, 90% of the people tends to modify the psx files for comodity, and because the apps have more compatibility.. But, anyone has succedded in getting the new sprites added in the psp version? In this web ( Dunno if I can put external webs... http://www.videogamesprites.net/FinalFa ... ics/Party/ ), these sprites are put there, so there must be some way.... maybe... Still a noob :)

Still investigating... :D
