What is the Text: This is all text that appears outside of events, from item names to character descriptions.

How to test the Text: Really good testing is going to require really close comparison of all the menus, descriptions, help info, Chronicles, and Propositions to the PSP version of the game. There are many many menus hidden in the game and lots of nocks and crannies to explore and see if we have missed something. I am attaching a save file to this thread which has all items and unlockable Chornicles stuff available from the beginning of the game to facilitate testing. Some things will just require paying close attention while playing through the game.

What to look for:
-Dialog boxes with wierd lines through them (first screen shot)
-Text running over the edge of a window, dissappearing, or just being poorly formatted.
-Typos, stuff looking like it is in the wrong place

Areas that need extra attention:
-Spell Quotes: These are the only thing that are original and need to be looked over for content errors, like correct naming and matching up with the spell being cast. Obviously these will be difficult to test in game, we will look into ways of making it easier.
-Propositions: The only way to test them is to do them all. Not only is there the text while you are excepting and completing them, but while your characters are off on them there is some different information in the Chronicles section.
-Character Quotes:

How to report Text errors: Screen shots are essentially mandatory for error reports and info on what it is supposed to be if it is unreadable in the screen shot.

Outstanding Text Errors:
- Change the menu text "All" to "Total", then revert Darlavon's statement back in the tutorial.
- Remove the spell quote autoskip, make a seperate hack.
- Error in dialog from Ninja in Tutorial

I noticed that "Critical: Recover MP" doesn't completely fit. It shows "Critical: Recover M".

Spell quote for Judgment Blade disappears immediately after being displayed. Kind of hard to get a screenshot of the exact problem because it just disappears instead of pausing for the button press...

EDIT: Spell quote for Haste did this too. I'll turn text output speed down to lowest and try to get a screenshot, though I dunno if it'll help.

EDIT THE SECOND: Also Umbra

Screenshot doesn't help much, it just displays the spell quote and immediately closes it. I managed to get it mid-close...

We changed the quotes so they close automatically (instead of requiring you to press circle).
Maybe there should be a delay...

Yeah, especially if people play on Frame Skip.

Darlavon reads a label wrong in the Roster tutorial #3 (Equipping Items).

He talks about a "Total" label, but it's actually "All" in our game.

If only we could add an option to the option menu saying whether you wanted them to automatically close or not... But at least having a delay is a good starting point.

I think you could, though it would require a lot of ASM work.  I've seen something simular with changing the text for skills in another PSX patch, Cless's Tales of Phantasia Translation at www.tales-cless.org .
It'll be a good long time until someone flushes another guitar string.

When you press select on "Act" in battle it gets the weird lines.

Damn guys this is amazing though, I plan on checking for errors quite a bit in the next day or two.

Equipment description formatting issues I've come across so far.

Zwill Straightblade effect is partially covered by the next page icon:

"Jobs capable of equipping" formatting is off on the Assassin's Dagger:

As well as on the Orichalcum Dirk:

On Flame Rod and Ice Rod, the spell effect (ie Blizzard and Fire) are placed under the "page down" icon, so they're only partially visible. The Thunder Rod seems to avoid this problem by making the description of the item on a separate page.

Got tied up with other stuff. More problems from the tutorial:

Darlavon gets his map navigation buttons swapped around.

And he gets the speed of this ninja wrong.

The Personae description for Argath at the end of Chapter 1 has an awkward line break between "higher" and "birth"

Screenshot: http://img82.imageshack.us/i/argath.jpg/

Also, a line runs too long when you're first made a treasure hunter, and extends a bit past the text box.

it says here you need level 5 Thief to have access to Ninja
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v501/ ... 8_0919.png
but then mine is only level 4

it seems that the job requirements weren't changed based on WOTL

You are correct Sen, we didn't do the job requirement change. It will match WOTL though.
