Ramza, a sprite change for Mercenaries?

Problem is... it Can't be new, as the Evtchr's would all be screwed up then, this is just a palette swap on the Chapter 2-3 Clothes, though if you happen to have something regal in mind for Chapter 4 Ramza sprite?

I don't really think any pure palette swap will ever look good.
But, then again, I hate the original sprite with a passion.
Then the problem becomes that this sprite has like a billion extended animations.
This makes changing the sprite a massive undertaking.
Perhaps changing the colors to 2 complementary colors would be a better route...

Kage's is pretty decent, in my opinion. It's a little reminiscent of his original palette, but whatever. Anyway, I tried out a red/black/gold scheme, lemme hear what ya think.

I kinda like Mavs, actually. I was gonna try to do something like that but i couldn't get the browns right.
Maybe try it with my armor color, with more leathery looking browns for the legs/gloves, and dark grey pants?

Mav's matches the new beginning Ramza sprite more than the others.  That has some value to it.  Then again, black or purple is more suitable for being the underling of a dark knight.

Agreed. I like mav and Kage's palette swap.
But I think black would fit better.

Well all the official artwork and the PSP videos have him in black armor. There's no doubt there.
His gauntles and greaves look silvery and his pants seem more brown than in Kage's.

maybe the black on the chest could be lightened a bit? this one's very dark... but it might look better on an actual FFT map

I can't see the details anymore, by lightening the very dark parts the 2 black tones are now too similar

Well, that's why this is a bitch of a sprite. There are basically 8 shades of grey. It has to be tweaked to the point where the light shades aren't too light and the dark ones aren't too dark. I pro'ly need to lighten one of the shades of brown in the pants. Kage's has 1 less shade of grey; the 2 darkest are the same shade in his.
