News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

Help with others applying my patch

Hi, i created a patch called Ff Tactics Dissidia 013 and wanted to see if perhaps anyone can offer some insight on some difficulty that others have had with applying my patch. Modders on another forum called New Game Plus have been trying my hack and have been getting a bad sector error right away. I have play tested this hack on a patched iso and it has worked fine on ePSXe.

Others have noted that ePSXe is not accurate and should be tested on Mednafen or Retroarch. I plan on doing this but wanted to know, is there something wrong with the patch or is there a step that I missed when making the patch with PPF Studio? Is there a common reason it would work fine on one emulator and not another?

Someone mentioned sprites could be an issue but I used all loaded sprites from here. Plus they seem to show up fine on my emulator. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

The patch is a ppf made with ppf studio and it does work on ePSXE when patched to a clean rom.

Usually the reason no one else can apply your patch is because you created a patch comparing a FFT Image with a different format than the most commonly used one.

You can find here how to get the right format for yourself: http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=10119.0

Though I can't guarantee that's the issue.

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)
