I recently came across an issue i cant seem to work around. Theres a few characters i have, and i wanna change what class they have and use.

Example: Changing this character that looks like a knight, into a Holy Knight without modifying the Job in FFTPatcher.

Is there a .BIN or something i can follow that has my characters saved on it, so i can modify? Or do you all know a easy work around? I'm asking this because if you change battle skill to Holy Knight(Etc) all the knights in the game get it.

im guessing this character is part of your party, if so, then what you're looking for is not FFTPatcher, but savestate editing or gameshark codes. If your playing on an emulator, most emulators have the ability to also emulate a gameshark/codebreaker device, or have a plug-in with that functionality.

... change the ENTD files. Just set the persons job as a Holy Knight and you're done.

Edit: Unless, yes the character is in your party. The best way to do that in this case would be the same - change the ENTD files. Then go to the Holy Knight Job Class and uncheck "Immunity: Invite" so when you battle that person ... you can invite them. That's the way to do it with FFT Patcher anyways.

Do i extract the ENTD files from where? Can you explain how do i edit a character exactly, because iv look in the ENTD files before and i only got the vanilla characters.

Because my character i wanna edit is a Soldier i bought from the Market.

Edit: Wait i see, so i have to make them appear when i go into battle? Then Invite them? That sounds rather hard to do, is there any other way?

Edit2: I just figured, you can use "Join after event" rather then inviting them.

Hmmm, in relation to the topic, is there a way to modify the text within the job wheel via FFText program? just wondering. (Ex. change 'Squire' -> 'Lavamancer' or 'Planeswalker') Tried editing the job name via FFText but so far only the job wheel remains uneditable. Am I missing something or is this not possible yet? thanks.

@ Green Archer
There are a lot of different entries in FFTacText that refrence the job names, its probable that you just aren't changing the right entries.

in my experience to get the desired results you have to change it wherever it appears which takes some time but is worth it in the end

you have to change like 5 different files containing the same text, but the job wheel probably involves the file that writes over world.bin which could bug up your other overworld stuff like shop text.
