Installing Patches

Hi there,
I'm interested in playing a few of the projects listed on the site, are there instruction on how to apply and play the various projects? For instance fftv1.3 have a few different patches in the download directory what is the difference between  easytype and normal type? I am assuming all I have to do to play that one is patch a .iso then play correct? In the instance of Symbols of Rage, I don't see a patch of any kind, how would I go about trying that one?

Thanks in advance for the help

WELCOME TO FFH, WHERE ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

Instructions are scattered about.  For example:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=449

but, most of the patches here are in ppf format.  So... all you need is an iso and ppf o matic:

http://fftdev.istaken.org/patches/Voldemort/PPF-O-Matic/

it's fairly intuitive past that.  Just be patient :p

Regarding the different patches, all the patches officially hosted are for playstation (PSX) version only, with 1.3 made for the PSP versions as well.  The different between normal 1.3 and easytype is a degree of difficulty on enemies/bosses -- the class/item/armor changes and such are identical.  Normal 1.3 is more for the seasoned FFT vet who's probably done a few challenges, while easytype is more for people not as versed in battle mechanics, character turn order, and just less experienced at the game in general.  In an absolute sense 1.3 is playing the game on "hard" while easytpe is on "normal".  Original fft is dirt easy.

SoR's patch... is stuck in limbo atm.  It's a scrapped project.  1.3 and FFT:Complete are the only completed patches to date.  Remix, Mercenaries, and CoP are in demo mode at best for the moment.

edit:  And even the FFT:C patch is wonky on the front page.  Just check out its forum/main page:
