Final Fantasy Hacktics

I am completely new to using this stuff to mod FFT. Any tips on getting started, what programs to use, what I need, etc? I have PSX emulator and the game, so now what? Looking through all this stuff is a little overwhelming, and I haven't been able to find many of the programs to mod it. Can anyone help me navigate through? Please and thank you!

The head to the Help! section for tutorials. I suggest starting with shishi for basic sprites tactext for name changing and Patcher for Misc then work your way up.

Thanks for the help! Just looking into the future when I figure this stuff out, can you edit the music in game to other music not in Tactics?

As far as I know you're stuck using whatever music is already in the game.  There are a few unused tracks to swap around I believe.

i think you should try fftpatcher first, since i think it's the most important one.

after that, you're free to try shishi, or fftactext, etc.
