I kinda think more things from the Panther set of sprites could aid the nanaki one...colours are perfect as they are though.

I think I'm going to leave Cid the way he is...unless anyone objects. The worn effect is really growing on me...

As for the Soldier...I went ahead and did a Biggs version (FF8 Style). I took the helmet colors from MikeMitchi's Wedge.

The coloring seems a little light to me. Any suggestions?

What? Did I make Wedge? haha.. sorry bout that.
Also, borrow the colors from units with red. :)

I like the Cid sprite a lot. The palettes on all of these are okay so far, but always try to borrow from existing sprites. Always. Heheh.

Wow...missed the colors on that one. xD

Fix, sorta.

I've been using MS Paint/PalSuite for the sheets. For some reason, I'm lost on how to rotate palettes between sprites. (Ex. Adding red from an existing sprite.) Do I open 2 palettes and drag/drop or do I just open two sheets at once and copy the colors. Sorry if this a dumb question, I guess I'm not understanding the terminology. :x

Me, I don't know. I use GraphicsGale. :P
Maybe someone else can help.

Is it my monitor? Or does it really look brown?
Hmm.. yes, you should fix that.

And oh btw, the Cid sprite was done 'not good'.
Why? coz' the outlines for the whole clothes are based from the same
color.

Drag and drop--on paint you can have the sprite just copied where there's space. Have the color to be replaced as the foreground color and the color replacing it as the background (or eraser) color. Hold down the mouse button on the right while erasing, and it'll replace the foreground color with the background color. It's a little time consuming, but it gets the job down (on a slow, small scale).

When it comes to full-scale palette changing, I'd suggest using something like GraphicsGale...

Stop making your own palettes. God damn. Last 2 recolours are bad

I agree with Asmo, borrow colors from existing sprites.

Mkay, sorry for the lack of updates. Haven't really done much lately. I've finally figured out how to "borrow" colors without it being too tedious. xD

I'm still playing around with GraphicsGale a bit (amazing program, btw), so it may be a while before I actually update anything. I'd rather produce quality rather than a ton of recolored POS's.

Thanks, everyone, for all the critiques. :)

Also, here are the WORKING versions of Shinra/Soldier and Cid(Desaturated) + working portraits if anyone cares to use them, although I'm still working on getting Cid's palette perfected.

I'll attach them. Tinypic isn't liking the .bmp files for some reason...

Edit: Nvm worked fine...

I say brighten the colors a little bit on Cid and he'll be ready. Those goggles are so neat.
