So, is this means that if you leave BOOT.BIN[2A1630] originally like BOOT.BIN[29E334], then problem solved or...?

How did you solve the problem Verdeni? I'm having the same error as you...

It's text limit slapshock. Once I reduced the amount of text I used, I was able to patch it without trouble. Becareful not to use too many letters after the amount used in the original names, because then it freezes your game. I've already had problems with that, hence the reason i originally asked about this.

I've changed alot, but look around in the text, since there's no limit, and find useless things. Delete those useless thing if you need more room. DO NOT LEAVE THEM BLANK, that makes problems occur too.

I'm getting an error when using FFTacText editor when clicking on "Patch ISO" for the PSX version. It doesn't even ask which iso I want to patch. Immediately after clicking "Patch ISO" the error occurs.

I'm not sure what's causing it and I have a picture of the error below, FFTPatcher and Shishi work fine though on my computer.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Your supposed to click 'Continue' I believe. It's more than not asking if it's okay to do the next action when hat pops up.

Clicking 'Continue' won't be helping, I think.
Nothing will happen.
What did you edit? Any major things?
And first of all, is your ISO clean?

Clicking continue automatically freezes the program. As for what ISO I'm using, the program freezes even before I get to pick an ISO.

I changed descriptions, names, and several other things but even with a new file with only one name changed still brings that error up when I go to "Patch ISO".

On another note I'm getting a different error as soon as I try to open a new PSP text file as well. I'm using 1.0.0.271 of the FFTactext program by the way. I'm at a loss as to what to do since the other programs work.

EDIT: Seems like I was using an older version of the FFTactext program and I found one that is working fine for me. So problem solved.

Oh...so meaning now you are using the newest version of FFTactext?
And before that, you were using old version of FFTactext, which causes all these errors?
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Yeah I thought I had the latest version and it turns out after looking around in the forum there was a later version of the text editor which seems to be working fine. I just miss being able to change some of the names in the program that works in the FFTPatcher and the old text editor.

I have that already but it doesn't work with the new text editor.

But now I have a new issue with the newer text editor. I get an error right after I choose which ISO I want to patch. I've tried on a clean ISO and it still doesn't work.

Its because you opened an iso that had been patched with a really early version.

It doesnt know where the other editor left off so it cant pick up its starting point(the object reference). Use a clean iso, and a complete new patch. dont use the old .fftactextfile you made with the old editor, or itl try and do the same thing.

Clean iso, clean patch file. If it doesnt work, then the iso must not be clean anymore. ive patched over my clean with a minor edit by accident one day and it still did this... all i changed was squire to Breakr, so even the simplest edit will cause this problem

You might be right because the "clean" iso I used was the one that I expanded with the two ppf files zodiac made. I guess I'll just rip a new image from the PSX FFT then and try that.

Edit: So basically if I get a clean ISO that works and patch my clean ISO with the new text file... can I not repatch it again? Just wondering what the limitations are for patching at the moment with the new program.

If you patch over the clean iso with the new text editor, you can repatch over it with that text editor. You can keep patching over it so long as you never patch it with the older version.

Also; i have no idea how well text edits perform on the ISO expansions that zodiac made, my guess is that would cause a major problem on determing reference points, considering the amount of space the expansions cause the new ISO to have

Well trying a fresh ISO worked so I'm back on track. By the way does anyone have a list of which random battles appear in which chapters in the FFT Patcher?
