Anyone know the name of this game?

I wish i had some kind of better lead...

all i remember is it was a strategy RPG, with battles that had animations akin to advanced wars... but you commanded alot of troops at one time, it was also entire-team-turn-based...

i recall it being on the Sega...

can i be more vague for you guys? :3

Hmmm...Sorry, no you can't be more vague unless you didn't say it being on the sega

To be more vague, you'd have to legitimately not even know what you are talking about.

Sleep on it, and maybe you'll be able to tell us more.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

Nice one VC, but seriously though can you give us more detail.
Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, bringing torment and pain to others. Oh damned soul wallowing in your sin, perhaps...it is time to die

Similar, but the sprites seemed smaller, at least in my memory.

Langrisser, or the Sega version of which is Warsong.

Similarly, Langrisser's SNES version DID get fan-translated, and it's a complete blast to play, filled with branching storylines and everything.

Either that or Shining Force.

Bahamut Lagoon

Live a Live

only ones that come to mind.

DQ5 and 6, too, if you're a fan of that series.

DQ was good.. i dont like how they are making 3D DQ games...it just kinda pales in comparison to more updated battle systems...i mean DQ8 did it right, but the new DQ for the DS...kind of a big fail on their end...

Bahamut lagoon is actually really great. i played that one a bit ago. really unqiue traditional RPG elements, like wild arms and regular early FFs, combined with SRPG centered tactics and battle maps...just a great game all around. its one of the few ambitious games that actually accomplish what they try. As in when they did it, they did it right, not like wild arms 3-5...*shudders* they did something new and failed miserably.

Never heard of Liva a Live

Live a Live mostly an RPG with a grid-based fighting system.  You go through like 8 (I think its 8 ) different scenarios and then a final one -- kinda like mega man, only there's no real carry over or incentive to go one scenario first or not.  Either way, well worth a play.

OH!  And Seiken Densetsu!  Especially if you're a SoM fan.
