I have to ask because I'm new and even though I'm skimming posts I may never find the answer I'm looking for so here goes.

I noticed that there is a way to edit text will someone point me in the right direction?

I used to ABUSE FFT on the PS with a hex code editor and remember renaming jobs and such but the text change was only semi-effective as it would only work in battles. With the new utilities are the text changes permanent?

Btw, this place is just FANTASMICALLY AWESOME! Congrats to all of the contributors and nice job on the red mage.

One of the older versions of FFTPatcher includes a text editor called FFTacText. It has problems with editting Battle.bin and World.Bin so you should mod those files with a hex editor. Also, Melonhead said he would release a better version of the text editor in the next few weeks. ^_^

Hi....erm....anyone here knows how to change job names without messing up the skills ?
Like i tried to change gafgarion dark knight to shrine knight, everything is fine.
But when i tried to change archer to ranger, the skills messed up (like stasis sword become split punch or lightning stab become holy explosion - like all the skills have been pushed up)
Anyone know how to fix it? ^^
