the Lucavi are included, only a few though. Also the video will be up whenever Voldemort gets it up... in the mean time I'm going to continue on, but don't expect any large updates until then (he's running the video since his computer can run sound.)

I think porting this to the PSP version will be much easier then it looks, heh. No need to worry about this for now. I'll test this when I release the first chapter.

LOL that was such a great video. Recording your first playthrough is definitely the way to go Voldemort, you get so shocked by stuff.

LD this is such an awesome event, the dialog seems really good for the most part too. Are you figuring out more stuff about how to reposition text boxes? Hopefully you can convince Voldemort to post a few more vids of different playthroughs of this to show of all the work you really put into this.

Do you need any more help with the story?  If you have any issues with grammar or spelling I can fix em.  If you're interested in anything like that just ask and I'll post my email.

Here's a sample of the kind of cleanup I would do:

QuoteForeword to Griescher's Documents:

Let me get straight to the point...

Ramza is a fictional character concocted by Orlan Durai as part of his anti-Delita agenda. 99% of the story is untrue because Alazlam is retelling history based on the Durai Report, which Orlan wrote, and we can't trust Orlan because of his anti-Delita bias.

Orlan hated Delita for manipulating Goltana into having his foster father (Orlandu) arrested, killing Goltana, and then murdering Orlandu in cold blood. In the Report, a conveniently "fake" Orlandu is killed by Delita while the real Orlandu goes onto join Ramza in his "battle with Lucavi." In actual history, Delita executed Orlandu, leaving Orlan bitter and vengeful.

The real Ramza is, as the Church says, a heretic. There were never any Zodiac monsters in history. Ramza just had a taste for blood, and Orlan justifies his vicious massacres by crying "Lucavi." It sounds crazy, but consider Vormav as he is portrayed in The Manipulator and the Subervient and Vormav as he appears in The Valiant. In The Manipulator and the Subservient, he is an agent of the Church, manipulating things with Delita's help. In The Valiant, after no time lapse, he is possessed by a Zodiac monster. Orlan stretches the truth, and paints Ramza as a "kind man", from a "noble family". He does this to establish a character to rival Delita, a stable boy of humble beginnings that rose to high standing through hard work. The people of Ivalice admire Delita, but Orlan tries to smear his good name in the dirt and make Ramza into the true "hero."

Why did the Church conceal the Durai Report? Because it brings to light the Church's own manipulation of things. It was ultimately unable to triumph, as Delita, the clever opportunist, siezed the chances he was given.

Lastly, consider the ending. Orlan depicts Ramza as having miraculously escaped Murond. That didn't happen. Orlan is just a poor writer. He does this though to give Ramza a "larger than life" sense of being. He was a bastard Beoulve who stood true to his friends as the pure Beoulves never did.  If we were to believe Orlan he was a man who selflessly threw himself into harm's way for total strangers and who ultimately made the final sacrifice to free the world from "Lucavi."  His sister Alma, as least as she is portrayed in the Report, is also largely fictional.  She was never captured by the church to bring back some kind of Dark Messiah, how ridiculous is that? Orlan feeds us these fantastic lies for the sole purpose of getting revenge on the man who killed his father.

There is also the final scene in which Ovelia turns on Delita. None of that actually happened in history, but Orlan retells this out-landish tale to portray Delita as a manipulator that ultimately had nothing in the end (i.e. he loses his queen, he lost his childhood friend, etc.). He does this in one final attempt to portray Delita as a heartless manipulator, having "used" the fictional Ramza for his own purposes.

Oh, I could use a ton of help with the historical backdrop! The story though, a few parts are currently a bit sketchy... but I think I have that sector controlled. Though I really like your rewrite! You must have read what is being done to the Bar, Rumors turning into "Main Documents", Proposition turning into "Historical Snippet". Is that right?

The two sides of the story. I love Alazlam as a character, I liked the thought of hearing a story, but his role after a short while falls away. Now I want to keep the "historian" involved in all things, while I might not be able to give anything for it. I'd like the role of Hedin to be a bit... larger then Alazlam's was.

And the video... Wonderful work Voldemort! You portrayed it quite well! If only you were a few levels higher though, hehe... Though I think, since I have all the fixes on my own computer I can do a "Receiving Longibunne" video. Sound for that isn't really important, hehe.

Edit: And to answer your question I haven't heard about the rumors and propositions turning into 'main documents' and 'historical snippets' but when I get home from work I'll look through the thread to find out.

LastingDawn, I've gotten two events down that could be a part of Ruglia's Records. If I'm thinking correctly, it's basically composed of summaries of each event, similiar to the ones found in the Brave Story/Chronicles of the vanilla game. I hope I haven't misunderstood your intentions there though.

Here's a sample:

Mysterious Swordmaiden

While traveling through Mandalia Plains, we chanced upon a woman named Lavian being attacked by a group of brigands. Though Gafgarion wanted to simply cut down the rogues and continue on our way, Rad wanted to save the woman. A brutal battle ensued, in which Lavian showed herself to be skilled with a sword. After the brigands were dispatched and noting how dangerous it was to travel alone, Gafgarion offered Lavian a chance to join us.

Wasn't sure what to call the enemy in that battle, so "brigand" is just a placeholder of sorts.

Ah, that does sound good! That works well as an introduction to the system, with Ruglia's Records, Griescher's Documents, and Durai Report's based on the main events as they come. Of course the historical snippets need a lot of info put into them as well, those will probably be in the "Main Documents" for those that don't become added to the Brave Story of course.

Ramza Ruglia, Ruglia was the maiden name of his mother, in the normal game, Ramza adopts this name until Gafgarion blows his cover, when he reveals to Agrias that he is a Beoulve.

Here's the other, based on the battle in Sweegy Woods. BTW, nice vid of the battle, Voldemort.

A Surprise Evening Melee

As I searched Sweegy Woods for suitable kindling for a campfire, I came across a Dragoon and a group of armed fighters. The Dragoon informed me that a melee battle was about to take place and that the sole survivor would win prizes. I was surprised when he told me that I would be a participant as well. I attempted to call for help, but the Dragoon bluntly stated that I would be killed on the spot if I did. Reluctantly, I took part in the battle and won. Afterward, I questioned myself for getting caught in such a situation, and wondered about the zeal of the participants in this bloodsport.

"The Dragoon informed me that a melee battle and that the sole survivor would win prizes. I was surprised when he informed"

The first sentence isn't working, and there is just too much "informing" going on. But decent overall.
