I don't think it's illegal to trade views and ratings... (There is no money-related stuff involved, I'm recruiting other people to do the same, and we and our friends are not using bots or illegal programs/hacks)

I doubt it's illegal or that youtube will care, but it certainly is shady and underhanded. Almost certainly evil.
