Anything would be balanced corresponding to the given option. Now I really want to know what YOU think.

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)

I'm not sure what the differences are.  Does the 100% damage work on bosses?

And what's the difference between death and instant death?  Add: Death Sentence and Add: Dead?

Death is Add: Dead, Inastant Death is Add: Crystal which skips the death couter of three and immediately crystalizes the target.

I like option three, damage plus 25% chance of death.  It's the best balance of how Odin was always designed to work.

I didn't even know we could DO an Add: Crystal.  That's pretty cool.

I went with Damage + 25% chance of Death. Crystal/Treasure is a bit more fitting, but in the off chance the enemy uses Odin on my team, I would like to at least get the chance to revive them. :)

Holy crap, I just thought of enemy summoners using this.  Doesn't one of the Zodiac's have Odin?

Man, wouldn't that be instant game over on Ramza?  Or just imagine losing Cid in one hit.

Maybe we need a Immune: Crystal item?  That might be over powered, though.  (For that matter, enemies who don't crystallize... that might be interesting.)

Imune to crystal leads to never dying (just like a Delita or other guests). Or maybe 50%, not sure, since then you'd become Treasure after a while...

The only summoner I can think of that uses Odin is the one on Murond Holy City... not sure about the Rofel ones, Random ones and other ones who have access to summon...

Ya I have to agree that instant crystal on your characters would suck but it`s not really end of the world if you`ve saved.  Kind of reminds me of Fire emblem.  Still I voted regular death only.

If nothing else, an instant crystal move would be unique. Anyone can kill with a summon, only the new Odin would change this to a perma-kill.

Besides, we gotta jazz it up a bit. The instant crystal adds a new strategy (kill the summoner at all costs in case this kid has Odin).

Bosses are immune to crystal and treasure, right? If not, I don't think any problems would come from making them immune to the skill.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

Now that I think about it... That would put a unique spin on crystal hunting, both for getting enemy crystals, and for allowing your own guys to become crystals (for transferring abilities to lower leveled characters).

Now I wish I could change my vote!

Every character that gets lil stars when killed/cannot be poached/etc. are automatically immune to crystal/treasure. That includes all bosses/mini-bosses.

Well then it looks good. I sure hope more ppl vote for this. It is only a 25% chance of instant death anyway, so it can't be that bad! Heck, with a 3:1 stay alive ratio, I'd take my chances against Odin...

Oh wait, he does damage too (gets pwnd).
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

I could even reduce it to less than 25%...

example:

Status 1 (it makes your character stop walking animation), Crystal, Treasure:  16.66%

I could do the opposite too, but I can only raise it to 43,75% (25% Crystal + 25% Treasure)

So... are you from Europe or the US? I don't mind using commas to signify decimals, but you used one and then the other (16.66 and 43,75). Looks a little... odd.

But anyway, I think 25% chance is about right.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

I like commas better... >_>

Dots are too small (at least when writing on hand).

The side of me concerned with fairness wants to say regular old death, but the side of me that wants to see Odin do something unique says crystal. I voted crystal but I definitely think it needs a lot of balancing attention. I don't think simply lowering the % chance is going to do it. Maybe crystalisation could only occur on HP critical opponents or something.

I say damage +25% death. That's most fitting with the classical FF Odin, who can either instantkill the enemies (Zantetsuken) or deal high damage (Gugnir). Besides, if he recovers the original AoE and gets the same Q and CTR as Leviathan and Salamander, the 25% death would make up for the lack of elemental boosting, balancing it and making it unique.
