Celdia's Complete Patch / Re: Weird text issues

Oh, yeah. Don't use the tutorial. It doesn't have anything new and it breaks the game. :D

Heyla, folks. So this here is a quick rebirth of an old project that I thought I might dive into real quick to see how quickly I could get it updated using Xifanie's FFT Mod Helper (v 1.01) toolset. It even helpfully found a couple entries I'd missed so many years ago.

ISIA Base Patch

What Does This Do?

This patch is intended to be used as a base patch for new PSX FFT patches that want all of the duplicate Inflict Statuses and Item Attributes from Vanilla cleaned up into single entries that are properly referenced by the skills, items, and etc. that need them.

How Do I Use This Patch?

Included in the download are both .PPF and .FFTP files (use whichever you prefer, the end result should be the same) that can be directly applied to a CLEAN ISO before any other modifications for a new patch are made.

Notes

The only thing of note is that the Vanilla Inflict Status of "40 - None [Cancel: Petrify, Oil, Poison, Stop]" remains in the patch even though nothing uses that I.S. and it has been shuffled down to position 2B if for some reason you are looking for it. Replacing that shouldn't affect anything Vanilla.

The Lounge / FFT T-Shirt Design
May 10, 2019, 03:23:04 pm
Some of you folks might be interested to know that for the RPG Limit Break charity speedrun marathon going on right now, TheYetee has teamed up with them much like with the Games Done Quick folks and has some new t-shirt designs including one for Tactics. Link to that design here. A portion of proceeds goes to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness which has more info about that organization here.

Here's a quick look at the shirt design:

I don't think there's too much FFT apparel out there but this one is pretty accessible.

Is there a point to making your mod now? Do you have anything left to offer a community with years of creative fuel pumped into it?

IT DOES NOT MATTER

Hey all. Long time.

Been working on a new project and I've got a final edition ready for distribution so I thought I'd drop it here.

Just a new romhack of FF1 built off of the FF:Restored hack. There's details in the PDF with the patch file.

Updated to version 1.07 which fixes most of the bugs found in playtesting and includes a spoiler list for weapons and armor as well as fixes a game-breaking bug in Ordeals.

Celdia's Complete Patch / Re: CCP - Battle Logs
September 26, 2018, 03:47:37 pm
Huh. Some activity in here. Wild.

Yeah, like Elric said, I use some bad hacks in this patch so playing it outside of ePSXe isn't easily done from what I've heard from people playing it.

Also, the sidequests (Worker, Beowulf, Cloud, Reis, Deep Dungeon) are unfinished so Ajora only knows what you'll run into trying to play those.
10
I realize that if I ever decided to work on a new project, I'd have to relearn how to do everything from scratch again with all the updates in the past years. :D
11
Even though its apparently wickedly out of date, I fixed the first post anyways. Thanks, Darth, for rehosting those images. Made super quick work of it.
12
I never did get around to testing that the learn flags were properly set and functioned in game. its possible something might just plain not-work. As long as its set up right and he's being hit by an enemy monster, he should be able to learn it. Assuming it isn't putting him into a status that blocks learning. Not sure anything but Dead/Petrify stops that though.
13
Sad to say it is not one of my active projects. As much as I would love to get certain things fixed and fill out the sidequests and Deep Dungeon with the ideas I've got in my notes for them, I just don't have the time or motivation to do that kind of work right now. Hard enough just keeping up with my day to day life without trying to find time to re-learn how to modify a years-old project. I haven't written it off entirely (who knows, maybe when the kid is out of school and off to college and I change jobs I'll have some free time again) but in the foreseeable future I wouldn't expect to see any updates from here.
14
I'd say pick it up and dive in. If you pay attention to your EXP its almost a non-issue and to compensate for it a lot of the stat buff/debuff skills are pretty high value to give you more bang for your buck, as it were. It just turns them into something more temporary like a status effect than letting you stat buff up to 50 speed and 99 PA and go around one-shotting everything on the field with 16 turns in a row.
15
With all the reworking that happened, those skills got almost completely lost. Raising Br/Fa is the sole domain of the Homemaker class currently. Parallel to that is the Butler who has Br/Fa damaging skills. They don't need anything special to access those skills so if you open them up on the job tree quick enough you can get them in Chapter 1.
16
I've seen that pop up, too. I've deleted every instance of that text from the patch and it still shows up. I don't know where I'm missing it, but I don't think anything is actually tied to that skillset though. Even if there were, it wouldn't be very game altering I don't think. I wouldn't worry about it. Just another random bug I need to chase down.

Also, the hell are you playing that on? I didn't think any mobile software emulated my patch without major crashes at Orbonne. o_o
17
If I ever get this thing to a finished state I'm happy with I'll put together a Master Guide again but like Angel said I've just got so much else going on currently that CCP 2nd is very much at the bottom of my priority list, I'm sorry to say.

This looks great - a lot of which I have been trying to figure out. Do you allow people to use it as a base to build upon?

Quote from: Angel on March 26, 2017, 02:42:02 am
I'm pretty sure she'd be nothing but happy for others to build upon her work, since that was her original intention for releasing CCP2 in an unfinished state. Nobody, not even her, thought she'd keep working on it, so it's still not in a final sort of 'use this as a base' patch, but it doesn't need much to be used as a base.

^ This, mostly. You're totally welcome to use it as a base if you can make it work for you.

Loving the game so far but i have a few questions:

1 - Does anyone have the job tree for this version?

2 - I made Ranza a custom class and it worked amazing on this version of the game, but he is lacking the "equip sword" skill and after checking the FFTAC-TEXT I saw that the "Equip Sword" was replaced, is there a way for me to have this skill back?
I tried to hex edit to add the Sword part the "equip Armor" with no luck

The job tree from the first post of this thread, http://i.imgur.com/BwvI5FF.png should be accurate.

There's no way to replace Equip Sword without modifying something else existing in the patch.

Haven't run into that error before. Maybe post me a memcard file and I can see if I can replicate the error from your save.

The tree posted in the other thread should be the current one. Relinking it here for clarity.
