Final Fantasy Hacktics

Putting the cart before the Rhyhorn.

Looks good to me!  Thanks for all the conversion work.

Start with 9 INT, leave the vault and swim to rivet city to get the INT bobblehead before you are level 3.  Dont get any other bobbleheads until level 30, after you take the almost perfect perk.  Perfect 10s and maxed out skills OKGO

-Appearance/Clothing: A slender young man dressed in a simple robe of undyed cotton, bearing a yin-yang stitched on the back and held closed with a brilliant red sash.  His eyes are a brilliant green, standing out sharply in his tanned face.  His head is shaved bald,   His only weapon is a simple straight sword bearing an ornate red tassle, slung across his back in a worn leather sheath.  Around his neck hangs a necklace of large beads, an aid in focusing his mind and helping to direct the energy of his prayers.

-History/Background/Motivation/Goals: Raised from infancy within the confines of Wudang Temple, Xun lived a life of simplicity and devotion.  He has studied the basics of Taoist alchemy, astrology, cuisine, martial arts, medicine, and the workings of both internal and external applications of personal energy in addition to studying the ways of the gods and their places within the Tao.  A humble student of The Way, Xun has recently finished his novitiate in a temple, and is wandering the world to expand his knowledge and understanding of the principles of his teachings.

-Combat Style: Xun eschews heavy armor, trusting in his martial arts training to anticipate and deflect or avoid physical attacks while his intense spiritual training helps ward him from mystical assault.  His movements are swift and precise, his strikes suprisingly powerful thanks to his martial arts practice.

-Religious Affiliation (if any): As a devoted Taoist, Xun reveres all the good gods equally, seeing them as personifications of the virtues of The Way.

Buliwyf picks up the machinegun from the shattered remains of his last opponent and moves down into the caves, tossing it to Setch.  "Should still have plenty of ammo.  It didn't get used much."  He moves further into the caves, using the walls as cover, before popping out, blasting a tank and Zaku with his shotgun, and darting back into hiding.

1) move to U8, toss Setch machinegun
2) z17
3) ae17, shoot the tank on the way
4) shoot Zaku 2
5) back to z17

Buliwyf keeps the enemy's gun-arm extended as he twists to the side, pivoting on his left leg and pulling the Zaku off-balance as he drives a smashing elbow-strike at its torso before pulling the mech forward and across his body to flip it onto the floor.  He drives another palm-strike down into the disoriented Zaku's chest and then sharply twists the gun-arm back against all the applied leverage while pressing down on it's wrist.

1-5) ruining this guys day.  You all go on ahead, I'll catch up. >_>

Buliwyf moves forward and flings his crane line at Zaku II 1, pulling forward between himself and the hover truck before driving his palm into its head and then grabbing its arm and twisting viciously.

1) move to K4
2) Grapple Zaku II 1
3) strike the head to disable sensors
4-5) immobilize and disable arm to prevent gun use.

Buliwyf condenses down his ammo into a single clip and heads for the cave mouth.  "Might as well finish the job."

Buliwyf turns and heads back down towards his allies, already planning his next few moves.  He triggers the comm channel for his squad.  "Lyra, you may want to brace yourself.  I'm getting you out of there."  The crane on his arm launches out and wraps securely around her waist a split second before the old mans battered Zaku II gives a tremendous heave, pulling her back and away from Rolfe.  He clicks the comms over to Rolfe's frequency, but doesn't say anything or give any sort of warning before charging sothward.  Rolfe has just enough time to register the incoming Zaku II before Buliwyf suddenly stops and whips the crane hook down to entangle the bazooka-toting Zaku II and yank it forward.  As soon as it is within reach, Buliwyf smashes his elbow into the enemy mechs head unit.

1) Move to C7
2) Pull Lyra to D8 with the winch
3) Charge to the south, looking like I am about to tackle Rolfe.
4) Sudden stop at D11 and winch Rolfe to me.
5) Mech-judo!  With any luck I'll cripple his sensors so he cant see.
Counterstriker) Because I figure I am about to get jacked up something fierce.

Buliwyf sees the cluster of vehicles approaching the cave and nods to himself.  He flings the tank forward to absorb any shots and follows quickly behind it, his shotgun blasting repeatedly at the cluster of targets.

1) move to J2
2-5) each enemy there gets a shotgun blast.
?) Counterstriker anything that survives and tries to go through the door.

Buliwyf rushes his mech out of the trees at flank speed, leaning forward and firing his thrusters to rush along the ground as he moves north.  He tucks his shoulder in tight and aims for the rearmost tank, coming in low with a rising strike to the front of the tank as his shotgun whips out to the left to blast at another enemy. 

1) booster-charge to D4.
2) flip tank 14 up on its end for cover
3) blast tank 13 with the shotgun
4) possibly do it again if it aint dead.
Hold remaining actions for defensive fire against incoming attacks.

Buliwyf clicks over to the EFF comm frequency they were given, hopefully listening to them plan as he waits for them to come closer.

1-5) Hold position, ready to dodge incoming fire, and use what I hear on the EFF channel to help plan my next round.

Buliwyf reloads his shotgun, leaving the partly-empty clip on one of his clamps as he begins hunting through the snow, grumbling under his breath.  Eventually he retrieves his wench and cable, cleaning them off and loading them back into his arm.  "Shame about your mech, Vie.  My leg could use some work.  Guess it'll have to wait, I dont have the gear to fix it out in the field."  He pumps his shotgun, loading a round into the chamber. "Alright Squad Leader, ready to move out on your order..." and then a quiet "Hopefully into less of a clusterfuck.  God, I need a beer."

Buliwyf sticks close to Lyra as she advances, his shotgun swinging around to pump a round into Zaku II 2 before Lyra buries him under his friend.  With that out of the way he quickly pumps two more rounds into Zaku 2.

1) Advance to C6
2) Pop off a shot into Zaku II 2
3) advance to C3
4-5) Pointblank shotgun blasts to Zaku I 2

alternately most laptop manufacturers have a hidden partition on their HDD that will function as a boot disc.  Gotta call them and see how to access it though.  Mine was 'pull out the battery and hold down a certain key while turning the computer on' for example.

"On it."  Buliwyf falls back further (1), transferring Vie to May's Zaku as carefully as he can (2).  "Try not to shoot her, it was a big enough pain in the ass saving her the first time."  He swings around to the west and moves north, appearing by Lyra (3) and placing his shotgun against the head of the Zaku pinning her to the ground.  "That's no way to talk to a lady."  He pulls the trigger (4) and cycles the action, ejecting a spent shell. (5)

1) Move to G17
2) Hand over Vie
3) Move to E9
4) Execute Zaku 1
5) Look like a badass

"Oh for-"  Buliwyf ejects the crane assembly from his arm, leaving the Zaku bound and helpless. (1)  "There you go, Lyra.  If they wont listen to reason, you've got your first target."  He clicks to comms to a different channel, "Sir if you could take out that eastern tank, I would greatly appreciate it."  He moves as quickly as he can, minding his wounded leg as he presses through the snow. (2)  He gets to where Vie's IF blinked out and reaches out to scoop her out of the snow with his left hand (3) before falling back toward his own team. (4)

1) leave the Zaku all wrapped up like a present.
2) move to K9
3) Grab Vie
4) Fall back to k14

Buliwyf pops his comm long enough to do a passable imitation of a large frog, and then presses his mech into motion.

1) Move to D18 and look for targets
2) If there's a target, spend the rest of my actions pulling them to me with the new winch and ruining their day, otherwise move to E9.
3) If there's a winchable target near E9, ruin his day.  Otherwise just chill.
