The Lounge / Re: Disgaea 4 Released!

Disgaea 4 is on my "must get" list, even though I doubt I'll have the time to play it much.

2 from the roster, I prefer being able to pick who I use in combat.

Just by using a save game from a hacked game? Really doubt it. You'd probably get really glitchy and weird characters having abilities they shouldn't.

This.  Having messed around with Tactics on my PS1, I can tell you that unless you're running a patched game, your hacks won't work correctly.  The only ones that seem to work independently of a patch are ones that put characters in your party.  That being said, they will look messed up on the formation screen, and depending on the character their skills won't work at all (e.g. Elmdor, Altima).  Just remember, unless you've patched your game, the disc will always run what it is programmed to run.

Yeah, that beard does look quite a bit better.  Just a minor semi-related question: was Darlavon associated with the Hokuten, Nanten, or neither?

The front view looks like his tunic and leggings are attached to each other like a leotard, whereas the other views look as though they are the same color but separate. It may only be one frame, but it keeps throwing me off.

I prefer 4, 3 looks a bit sad.  I know it's his mustache, but it looks kinda like a frown, so when I look at 3 I feel like he's about to cry.  I'd like to see 1 with a forward view, though.

Help! / Re: Could I ask for a hacked PS3 save?
July 09, 2011, 08:43:27 am
If you had the memory card adapter for the PS3, you could put an edited PSX save on your console.  I edited my Tactics Ogre save files that way.  The only problem is that you can't exactly hack your game to include non-Serpentarius Elidibus (and play it on the PS3), so if that's the version you wanted you are out of luck.  If you have access to the adaptor, a PSX, and a gameshark you can do this easily yourself, without hex editing.

Check here http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/final_fantasy_tactics_game_shark_b.txt for a guide on using the gameshark to edit FFT.

If I wasn't currently busy with family stuff, I'd do it for you myself.  I'm sure someone here could do it.  If not, I'll try to get it done when I can (don't hold your breath ).

Back on topic, Level 5 did the development of Dragon Quest VIII, which is a property of Square Enix.  Taking that into consideration, Matsuno could still work on a War of the Lions game.  I hope he does.

I'm not saying that we didn't have a hand in any of the region's problems.  Iran is a good example of us screwing up spectacularly.  That does not negate the fact that my comment is true.  There have been very few periods in history where there were no wars or conflicts in the area, most without US intervention (since so many predate the existence of the USA).

The problems with the middle east are pretty much half our fault, and half Russia's. Our little cold war screwed up a LOT of countries there.

'Course there's Israel too, and the situation there is quite a few people's faults.

That's a bit short sighted, most of the problems in the middle east predate our cold war with the Russians.

Am I the only one confused by this bit?

It means that it isn't specifically Baptist, or Pentecostal, or Episcopalian, etc.

I'm in favor of it being a sub-folder in either General or Spam.

Leave Nintendo alone
As long as they keep making Pokémon games, they are awesome

Hey, Nintendo still rules the handheld market, and since that's where Pokémon games are you'll be okay.  I'm talking about their home consoles.  It's like they refuse to keep up with current trends and technology.

CDs?  Nope, we'll stick to cartridges!
DVDs?  Nope, we'll do mini-CDs!
HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray?  Nope, we still won't let you watch DVDs!  Why would we let you use new tech??
Online play?  Nobody wants that, so we'll give you the worst friend system ever!!!!
An MMO-style Pokémon?  No way, even though the fans would eat it up!

Don't even get me started on their controllers.

No, and I think Nintendo needs to stop making their consoles more ridiculous with each generation.

I disagree. Bin-Laden is the figurehead of Al-Qaeda; he's the face of the organization. It's a hard blow to terrorists' inspirations. They no longer have anyone to rally around.

Well, that's your right to disagree, even though you are wrong.  He's now a martyr to them; a victim of the "great Satan", America.  Fighting a group like Al-Qaeda is akin to fighting a hydra, you cut off one head, and another springs forth.  This isn't a game where you kill the general and woo-hoo you've won the game!  No, there is a radical ideology that must  be addressed.  Killing bin-Laden, especially considering the circumstances, will only strengthen the resolve of others within the organization.  Remember, this is a group that uses kamikaze-style tactics, they do not fear death.  To them, death holds a great reward, and they truly believe that they are fulfilling the will of Allah, not bin-Laden.

It's about time, although I doubt this will have any major effect on terrorist activities by AL-Qaeda, unfortunately.
