You guys remember that "How did you first get FFT?" topic?

I said I rented one from Block Buster Video and never returned it? Until they just called me and asked me to just buy the game from them?

YOU REMEMBER!?

I originally bought FFT when I was deeply in love with FF7 (at 12 / 13). After doing a lot of digging around I saw that Cloud was in another game, Final fantasy tactics. Naturally being young, with no money I never ever got to play it. Until I was 15.

When I eventually had it imported (at the time, the game had never been released in Scotland, where I lived until I was 19) I was vastly disappointed. The game was fun, but I didn't understand the mechanics and my reason for buying it faded. It stayed in my games closet for some time, until I was about 17 when I picked it up again. This time I caught the game mechanics and had a lot of fun with it, until I got to the series of battles at the first Lucavi fight (against one of the high priests). I got totally raped, and I only had one save so I wasn't able to stand against the punishments he was dishing out, leading me to abandon my save for quite some time.

After moving to Australia, I had to go back to emulation to play it, this time I was far more prepared making it quite far (Vampire Elmdor and the two assassin fight on the church roof again, if i remember correctly). Before just succumbing.

It wasn't until the release of WOTL for the PSP that I defeated the game proper, the retranslation kindled a love of the game, which had previous been a fondness at best.  My attention to 1.3 via a torrent site diverted my gaze to this little site, wherein I'm playing through the game slowly on 13022 PSP, and looking forward to the three storyline altering mods to be released.

THE END
14:45  @SilentB         ò "Hey, Cosgrove, how come you never married?"
14:45  @SilentB         ò "Because I eat too much meat."
14:46  @Celdia          ò Heresy. No such thing as 'too much meat'
14:47  @Celdia          ò One night with tithin would teach you that.

I bought my FIRST FFT cd when it first came out.

Then I sold to before the year 2000(!)

Then I found a factory sealed Greatest Hits copy at Sears!  For $15!

Yeah, your mom's a whore in case you didn't know that. Sorry you had to hear it from a stranger.

Anyways, I prefer the WOTL box. I can stare at that for hours. I  have stared at that for hours.

My story is a lot like tithin's, with two exceptions...

- I didn't know Cloud was in it. I just got it because it said "Final Fantasy" (Cloud being in it was a nice surprise at the time... which was not long after the game came out).
- I actually did beat it the first play through, but with help from GameShark... Though as a result, I couldn't view the ending FMV...

I've probably played the game 93482093842 times in my past (I forget it all, so it's almost a new experience every time except for the overall plot/premise/etc), and am in the middle of a file on WotL as of this moment...

My brother and his friend were going on about it, saying it had battles that lasted hours. His friend recalled how he had beaten it twice without noticing the hit percentages at the bottom of the screen when attacking someone.

I was mildly interested. Ultimately I beat it before my brother.
