They never should have been flags in the first place. Those are 3x 1 byte values.

I can't even begin to fathom why you'd want to use checkboxes, it's like trying to screw in a screw using a hammer. No one's going to stop you if that's what you want to do to thoughl it's not like the end values are different.

Event Editing / Re: Camera Rotation Issue
« on: February 07, 2019, 08:25:50 PM »
It's always better to stick to pure camera instruction for events because otherwise with focus following a camera instruction, the camera might spin 315 degrees one side instead of 45 degrees the other.

Unfortunately I don't know the mechanics in details about this.

Unfortunately, it's a "Use the attack animation of the weapon used for this ability" kind of a deal, so you'll start long-range punching things (with 0wp in Agrias'/Meliadoul's/Orlandu's cases).

And I'm not really positive on the Geomancy one. Feel free to test yourself.

1. Skillset types are not flexible whatsoever. You need to choose between Arithmetics or the gun stuff.

2. No

3. I have only made a hack to fix this in the PSX version. The bug is that any ability with "Weapon Strike" makes the formula takes the weapon's WP, but also its elements, completely overriding the elements the ability is supposed to be using.

Dubbed meaning not the original English audio, but rather in this case, French with shitty voice acting.

It doesn't seem to be any of those. The scene that I remember the most (i.e. traumatized me the most, it's my 2nd earliest memory in life):
A woman is in the bathtub, the tentacle creature crawls in the airways, makes it to the bathroom, reaches for her and consumes all the blood/organs/bones only leaving the skin behind.

I tried to find its title in the past to no avail. Plus it was French dubbed so there's no way I'd know/remember the English title.

Congrats, you just assumed that I assumed how you spend time with your kids. I was only stating that I think the time modding the game was time way better spent with your kids. If you draw other conclusions from that, that's your own assumption, not mine. While I was writing that post, I was wondering how you treated your kids otherwise, but I don't jump to conclusions like that, so I'd appreciate if you didn't accuse me of making baseless assumptions, thank you very much.

FFT is a very, very dark game, especially for its time. Lots of blood, betrayal, murder, manipulation, suicide... Let's just hope your kid doesn't get terrorized by Izlude getting ferociously and brutally murdered by his own father and seeing him puke blood until he dies then asking questions about it. I know I got terrorized at 5-6yo watching a pretty brutal horror movie (no idea what the name was, it involves tentacles draining the insides from people) with my parents and siblings and it took me a good 3-4 days to recover. That's something I wish I hadn't gone through.

You already had your answer though, Tactext and Event Editing. It's going to take a long time to go through all of that text. But, if that's what really matters to you, you do you, I guess.

Y'know, I had parents that raised me like shit. I was never able to develop a meaningful connection with them because of it. Please spend time with your kids instead of wasting your time on the most fucking mundane thing in your kid's life...

10 years to fix my parents' indifference.

To add to what my wife said, I'd be more concerned about a 6yo seeing Goltana stabbed in the guts with blood gushing everywhere... or Hashmalum literally committing suicide by ripping his insides open.

IMO, if a 6yo is smart enough to make it past Dorter, they'll be smart enough to not be affected by those inoffensive words.

You know you can't protect your kid forever from this right? Overprotected kids grow up to fail miserably in society. Watch out.

...Where's the foul language? There is no swearing in this game. I'm confused.

Help! / Re: Sprite size problem

Actually, this is my fault. I complained to Glain it was annoying that Shishi always asked to restructure an un-restructured ISO every time I loaded it in Shishi. I want my unmodified ISO to remain unmodified, y'know.

Not really. You could theoretically manually activate the entire world map and change your story progression variable to the right value (which is not documented) once you finish Gariland, but a lot of things would be missing as they wouldn't have activated as they gradually are with the story. One of the biggest is the Ramza ch1 to ch2/3 to ch4 'transformation' which IIRC would make Ch1 Ramza leave the party after a Ch4 story fight. And no, not replaced with anything.

Open your WotL ISO with Shishi

This is something you'll want to look at (and edit your post):

You already ignored me in your last post so I'll say it again:

There is a file with the town names in Shishi under Other Images. WLDTEX.TM2, then WLDTEX (2)
You can then export it, edit it in GraphicsGale or something, then reimport.
Note that the graphic lengths are hardcoded so it will be a lot more trouble to make a town name longer if you're not familiar with Hex editing and such.

Recruitment / Re: Requesting an Assist
« on: January 03, 2019, 05:01:56 PM »
That's just not going to happen. There hasn't even been a handful of talented eventers in all of FFH's history.

There are some reasons for this:
- It takes 10+ hours to learn
- Each event takes 2-10+ hours to make depending on your experience level
- Making good events requires to be open to criticism and asking our help (which we are more than willing to offer to those who want to learn)

Eventing is one of the rarest skill on FFH and one of most time consuming activity when it comes to modding the game. It is, from my perspective, not hard to event. It is just a bit tedious and time consuming.
With this post, saying you want someone to make events for you, you're basically asking: "I want to make a mod. I'll do 5% of the work. Could someone else do 95% of it for me?"

Many others have tried to recruit eventers in the past and yet, all have failed.

Be sure to read the rules topic:

Hacking/Patching Tools / Re: FFTText Editor (last update 2016/01/06)
« on: December 30, 2018, 08:08:28 PM »
A "bug" was reported to me where no lines would be editable using "Edit All". This is caused by both a column and its reference column only having blank slots. Some people might want to use this for accurately creating dialogue boxes in events, but the tool wasn't mean to just try and Edit All blank columns without proper references.

There's also a bug that if you moved/renamed/deleted the folder with the last .ffttext file you loaded will cause an error. This will be fixed in the next release. (You can manually fix it by editing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FFHacktics\Last Tactext FilePath)

Are you also using the hack titled "Activate Paletted Portraits for Special Units"?

Is this a special unit or a generic unit?
