If you don't mind taking many hours to edit the dozens of instances where he would look glitched in event as a result, sure. Or leave them as is—they don't hurt. They'll just make the story rather ugly to look at at times.

Save yourself some trouble and use Shishi to change the formation sprite/portrait instead of that Japanese translated program requiring you to use CDMage or whatever to import the files. Shishi just does it for you.

And if you're going to switch palettes that way, make sure "Match Pixels with Colors" isn't checked

What was the reasoning behind using Font size 1 when you're trying to get help? To me it makes about as much sense as trying to cut a steak with a spoon. Were you playing around, didn't realize your mistake, or realized it but didn't realize there was an edit button, or you did and figured people could just zoom in? I don't understand...

Can't you just use GifCam with Shishi? Works perfectly fine for me. Just overrecord a bit to get the proper frame delay for each frame.

Shishi allows you to view each individual animation frame manually if you click "Pause".

I have to agree, it sounds like you're using FFTPatcher in Wine or something through Linux.

If that's not the case... then definitely a problem I've never heard of before and I would try re-downloading the thing.

Pretty good, but still not as good as the Ultros Boogie, IMO.

Yeah, you can thank him for that; he did a fantastic job. I helped provide the data for the random battles, which was little work in comparison.

EDIT: Oh, I guess I didn't. It still uses the old shitty names.

ENTD 192 is the correct one I'm pretty sure. 1D9 isn't even named in FFTPatcher in the newest release.

Don't get fooled, there are several very similar or seemingly duplicated ENTDs that are just never used.

The .xml is generated from the spreadsheet. The code doesn't change no matter what is changed in the table... I don't know where you would get that idea. Nothing is hardcoded. You can just download the .xml in the topic itself.

Set Zodiac's formula to 100% hit or whatever you want, just make sure it's not NS (No Status)
Set the inflicted status to crystal.

You should probably play around more with the tools, you should be inspired by all the possibilities instead of asking an ASM about one of the most simple things that can be accomplish with FFTPatcher alone.

His image is 21 colours, and it seemed likely that this would happen since he just cut off Ramza's head to place it on a black mage body. People usually don't realize how much trouble headswapping can be (though photoshop can help a ton).

Well it happens a lot :cry:. Is really hard to find free ppl for bug report, and i really suck at debugging (even my own work) ...

Yet your work with FFT is amazing (i think i fall short), i don't think i can give this community anything worth.

Anyway I spent, still do, some time at the wiki over the CD Index, reading routines of battle.bin and scus there. Most is fine though there are some errors yet i didn't edit them, fearing that if you see a lot of anonymous activity you would have rolled back.

Well that's a pretty lame reason to not contribute :v
I've only ever rolled back spambots. Not only would I not rollback but I can also create you an account so that you can have proper credit for your edits.

I don't know if those strings will be available, but the max entry # for any section is 1024.
No, Tactext doesn't allow you to go past that with its GUI, but you can go beyond that if you edit the .ffttext file, or even better, use my FFTText Editor.

But whatever you planned sounds pretty complicated and doesn't sound possible to me... at least not super-sleep-deprived me.

Regardless the last version that I made, for version 1, was 1.1.
ARH2 is far more flexible, but you also need to be able to ASM, and I canceled its release (just like 10 other of my tools), because no one bug reports.
What's funny is that even mentioning this, the 2 people that I dared give a try to (as in: "I'll give you my tool if you bug report"), never exactly reported anything... just like everyone else. 8D

Elric is, on his own, responsible for 95% of all the bug reports I've ever received for any tool, and only the tools he was personally using. Thanks best buddy.

Well, you definitely won't be able to sprite with SAI. 8D
Most people just go with GraphicsGale, and very few Photoshop/GIMP.

I can't really teach much, I mean, Yeah the portrait you see is one I made myself, but essentially:
- Palettes are 16 colours each. Sprites and Portraits have their own palette.

1st row => #0 Sprite palette
2nd row => #1 Sprite palette
3rd row => #2 Sprite palette
4th row => #3 Sprite palette
5th row => #4 Sprite palette
6th row => #5 Sprite palette
7th row => #6 Sprite palette
8th row => #7 Sprite palette
9th row => #0 Portrait palette
10th row => #1 Portrait palette
11th row => #2 Portrait palette
12th row => #3 Portrait palette
13th row => #4 Portrait palette
14th row => #5 Portrait palette
15th row => #6 Portrait palette
16th row => #7 Portrait palette

- You should always try to use colours that already exist in another FFT sprite or portrait. The colour scheme of FFT is not highly saturated like, say, FFTA.
- The first colour of every sprite should be null/black and used as the background (transparency)
- The first colour of every portrait should be the beige that you can find of slightly different tones in different portraits.
- Use Shishi to see the edges of each section of a spritesheet to make sure you don't go over and verify that the animation is smooth

I'm not sure how to make it work, tbh. I just copy/pasted that code back in the day. :v

I do have W10 on my desktop, but what I really lack is the time to look into this to fix it.
