Hi Guys,

I've been searching through the boards for a good while, but I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for. I'm fairly horrible at tech stuff, but I love the work you guys are doing here. Its wonderful to see FF Tactics still gettin' this kind of love. But I can't seem to get accessing this stuff right. I spent around 2 hours or so doing the stuff in this thread: http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=6727.0

But it didnt quite turn out right. I know there are some issues with custom sprites and the Wotl version, which is probably why I'm having issues. I'm trying to use the succubus sprite, but I have two problems now. 1. The battle sprite has ghostly detached arms and casts spells with a mouth stuck up somewhere above her eyes. 2. The map sprite and pre-battle sprite have white lines around them.

I really appreciate the hep, if you guys have the time to do so.

Thanks a million!

Angel

The first problem is caused by not using the correct sprite type. On the sprite submission page, you'll notice that for type, it will say either 'type 1' or 'type 2', for the most part (as monster et al aren't submitted very often). In shishi, you will notice a drop down menu on the right that says what that sprite type is. That sprite type needs to match what you're importing for it to work correctly.

The second problem is caused by only replacing the sprite in shishi. Doing this will make everything look fine in battle, but look goofy on the party menu, pre-battle, and unit list screens. I only have a vague grasp on how to do this on PSX, and no clue how to do it on WotL. Might be the same steps. Celdie has a tutorial on this for the PSX version, though.

Alright, thanks! I'll go try and fix the battle sprite immediately. I can probably live with the white line problem. I think I sort of know how to fix it, but unpacking and repacking everything to get to unit.bin take forever. :P And great avatar! So excited for the new Disgaea game coming out.

Hee, thanks. I still haven't played the first Dimensions, but the second one looks interesting enough that I think I will.

Gah I got a sprite to work. But I overwrote the wrong one XD. Oh well, Ill be able to fix it soon. Thanks again. Ill prolly end up fixing the white line thing too.... Now if only I could get a sprite of my favorite character. Maybe Ill try it someday. Maybe.

Well, I went in and made sure the Succubus was Type 1. But she still has the wavy arms. Type Two Ignis  works fine tho... Any ideas on what I did? o.o
