Actions Lag?

For some reason every time I play FFT on my ePSXe emulator it lags really badly whenever I use an action in combat. Normal attacking lags a little but using spells or even abilities just lags the game out. What is weird to me is that when moving or during talking/cut scenes the lag goes away. It only seems to happen when I use actions. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Please post your current ePSXe settings as well as the plugins you use (pictures would be prefered as well as easier)
Also post your PC Specs please.
