Help. Spell Effect not showing damage?

Does anybody know how to make this effect show damage? I've tried applying it to Mustadio's skills and it doesn't seem to working. Am I missing something?

It's hard-coded not to show damage.  You need to use a skill-slot that's hard coded to show damage to offset this.

There's a small handful of them scattered around, but the ones I remember off the top of my head are the ones for the Battle Skill and Steal skills.
