Has anyone figured out how to edit effects for psp ?

I was thinking it might be done if you extract the fftpack and just mod it on the psx then switch the file to the fftpack broken then put it together . Has anyone tried ?

What, exactly didn't work? I just want to make sure it's not just that the ISO ended up an unplayable different size when you repacked it because there's an extra step or two you have to do to make it repack at the same size.

I tried putting the modded effect from the psx version into the fftpack effects folder of the psp and the game shows square- enix and shuts off the psp
