Atrius pulls off his trademark heavy coat, setting it aside as he takes his own fighting stance.  "Better than how things treated the Horses got, apparently... could be worse."  Atrius obliges , her wish and lunges forward, this time going for a grapple instead of the blow-trading they went through at the hangar earlier.

Having taken some time to tire herself out in the gym, hair still damp from a quick shower, May dresses down in her green and black civvies and decides to walk around outside to get some fresh air, no real destination in mind. Replaying the events of the last mission in her head, she continues to focus negatively on where everything went wrong right from the start and half-cursing herself for not sticking to her assessment of Vie after the battle with that strange red Mobile Suit. Lost in thought, her feet carry around the less-traveled areas of the base and she circles the corner to see Atrius getting ready to spar with a woman she hasn't seen on base before. She loiters near the corner of the hangar, watching from a distance so as not to interrupt.

Rin does her best to quickly sidestep his attempt at a grapple, coming down on him hard with an elbow.  She follows up with an upward kick.  "The Horses were doing well.  Just as well as when you were with us.  Til those cowards thought to ambush us with what was nothing less than an entire army.  But this isn't about me or the Horses, this is about you.  I am going to be honest, I never saw you as the leading type.  Too quiet."

RavenOfRazgriz

"Gmph..." Atrius takes her hits, doing his best not to falter as he takes a lesson from Rin's book and goes for a leg-sweep. "Sounds about as rough as we had it.  Quiet?  You could say that, I suppose..."

Randomname

She smirks at his attempt at a sweep, and practically allows it....  In order to demonstrate a counter.  Falling onto her bionic arm, she does a graceful cartwheel over before landing on her feet.  Charging back at him she goes for a nice gut punch, always avoiding the face. "I just don't see you properly taking charge.  Maybe you've changed, Viper, but I just can't see it.  I also can't see why an Earthborn like you even cares for the cause of Zeon.  It's always so hard for non-spacenoids to understand our frustrations."

RavenOfRazgriz

Atrius, ready this time, catches the gut punch barely in time, wrapping one arm around hers and pulling her towards him while the other moves in for a gut punch of his own.  A bit rusty, but it was all coming back slowly.  "It's been at least six months.  Of course I've changed."

Randomname

Smirking insanely, Rin rams him in the face with a headbutt.  "Change is good.  I like change.  I do hope all yours was for the better.  I still wonder if mine was..." she trails off, glancing to her metal bits.  Breaking that gaze, she moves to overpower Atrius outright and pull away back to a neutral stance.

Randomname

"Everyone changes, snakey wakey~... Besides, I owed you that one," she says, rubbing the slightly swollen area of her own face.  Rin giggles and motions him forward.  "Tired yet?  I can't imagine you've gotten a good workout like this in a long time."

Randomname

"You must block out distractions and keep your eye on the enemy before you!" she yells, charging forward with her bionic arm, aiming for his ribcage.

RavenOfRazgriz

Atrius looks back and sees that bionic arm charging for him, hitting the dirt and rolling away in the opposite direction on instinct from the high-speed chunk of metal aiming for his ribs. "You trying to break my rib cage or something, Rin?"

Randomname

Rin snaps out of her fight-mode rather suddenly, realizing what she'd almost done.  "Oh!  Umm.  Right.  I keep forgetting this one's a little strong..."  She blankly stares at the prosthetic, straightening up.

Celdia

Realizing she's been noticed and seeing that the fight seems to be winding down, May approaches the duo. "I don't think I've ever seen you move like that, Captain." Turning to face Rin, she continues, "And that has to be some of the most advanced hand-to-hand technique I've ever witnessed." Her eyes linger on Rin's artificial arm for a moment before meeting the woman's gaze directly again. "I'm sorry to see that you've given so much of yourself for our independance, but it warms my heart to see that our technology has allowed you to keep fighting-fit even after such a serious injury." She extends her right hand to Rin, "May Greenfield, Desert Cobra squadron."

Rin blinks but is glad to see a fellow patriot.  She smiles and grabs May's hand.  "Renae Heathraid, the Mad Mare, Commander of the Wild Horses Squad... formerly."  She ponders a moment.  "... Greenfield...  I recognize that name.  You got relatives that work with the Heathraids on Side 3?"

Celdia

May smiles cheerfully, "I was born on Side 3. My father is an engineer for Zeonic so I'd say its safe to assume he's worked with them somewhere along the way. He specializes in weapons design but I know he's been called in on various other projects outside of that field."

Teevina murmures something in her sleep, sighs contently and rolls away from him. He blows a lungful of smoke through his lips and glances over to admire the beautiful sight of her bare back. The noonday light filtering through the cloth hung over the window does well to highlight her curves. It was nowhere near their normal time for sleeping, but after such strenuous activities, surely a short siesta was not uncalled for.

Who would have thought the old codger had it in him? Who would have thought that he would have met her here of all places? Who would have thought she would have... grown so much?

Apparently, he had been away longer than he had thought. A lot longer.

   Eight months...

He pulls another long drag off the hundred credit cigar and holds the exquisite flavor in for a while longer before releasing it.

This war had been going on for far too long. He had seen the atrocities it had wrought upon both sides with his own eyes. And yet, just now, he had borne witness to one of life's most blessed pleasures.

He had not seen Teevina or her father, Traspin, since before the war broke out. He knew Traspin's Tavern had been destroyed and he had lost track of his friends in the chaos that transpired in the better half of a year after. Or perhaps 'worse' half, as one may wish to call it...

He had been in a foul mood after being reassigned away from the Roughnecks he so loved, but now, after finding this woman again, all seemed right with the world. Or at least, his small part of it...

Glancing at the clock beside the bed, he almost chokes. Was it that time already? He immediately extinguishes the cigar and leaves it in the ashtray on the bedstand.

He had arrived earlier than the others of his new squadron, apparently they had been out on assignment, and had milled around the base for a while. He had not realized how long he had been... catching up with Teevina. The call had come in with the Desert Cobras' ETA to base, so they had most certainly arrived by now.

After kissing the lovely maiden lightly on the cheek, he slips out of bed and dresses with haste yet also with care. He checks in the mirror to make sure his hair is not too badly mussed before donning his feathered hat and pausing to admire his own dashing image. Satisfied, he slides his sword onto his belt and makes his exit.

Walking through the hallways and across the tarmac towards the hanger, he passes several people. He all but ignores the men, but gives his most winning smile to the ladies. Several smile back, and a few even giggle and talk amongst themselves after they pass. This pleases him to no end.

Upon entering the hanger, he finds it devoid of anyone resembling the pictures he was shown in his briefing about the transfer. There are several mobile suits now that were not present when he first arrived on base, so perhaps he was simply that late. He turns on his heal and is about to head to the cafeteria when he hears voices and the obvious sounds of a scuffle nearby.

Following the racket, he rounds the corner to find himself staring at not one, but two lovely young maidens... and a guy... who looks quite similar to his new squadron leader. The green-haired one's voluptuous figure makes him blink to ensure he is seeing her clearly, while the other has quite obviously been recently fitted with artificial limbs and parts. The latter's appearance may turn off most men, but he finds a strange appeal in her looks.

There is no question in his mind that both of them have seen their share of battle and his interest is instantly piqued.
Hurry down the chimney tonight.

"Well, off we go I suppose, you simply must tell me what this... this... "J.U.N.K" is, hopefully its not nearly as bad as its namesake implies... full of energy as always eh?" Linear says to the petite girl nearly making circles around her as they walk off together toward the cafeteria, the brawl from earlier long in their shadow as they make their way across the hanger's dimly lit rear, her hands firmly pressed to the back of her skull as she tilts her gaze upward at the corrugated metal ceiling, criss-crossed by occasional structural supports, whistling a jaunty tune as the beginnings of a smile slide their way across her face, for the second time in a great long while, rolling her eyes at the newcomer that seemed to be making an introduction to Rin and Atrius, she would eventually come to know all of these diverse characters, but right now, all that mattered was her sister, and there was plenty of catching up to do.

"So, how has your time with Zeon been?" she asks in earnest curiosity, making her way down the cool, smooth hallway now adjacent to the hanger, walking in almost casual strides, the lack of direction quite a refreshing experience.

Atrius picks up his coat as the women talk, far preferring to be with it than without it.  As he adjusts his coat, he notices Quentin walk in and begin staring at his two lady friends. "Even more spectators today, it seems." Atrius says nonchalantly, finishing adjusting his coat.

Celdia

May nods in acknowledgment and half-whispers to Atrius, "This one looks like he stepped out of a bad romance novel. Any idea who he is?"
