True!  on both counts, really.  Started off with the archer on a chocobo, then I gave her a chirstmas hat, and now I'm a choco cannon!  Meanwhile, I started off with the Rebel line in the sig, then I added in a BP quote, and now its something from 8-bit.

It all started with Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord for the NES (I done killed Werdna a lot), and then eventually crusaders of the dark savant / gold for the PC.  I've dabbled in the ones inbetween thanks to emulation.  Also have played but not beaten 8, not to mention have the spinoff Nemesis for PC and the Tale of the Forsaken Land PS2 sideproject which is very true to its roots and something I highly recommend.
