New Job Sprites for Story Characters?

Hi! I just registered today! I hadn't followed the FFT hacking community in a few years, and lo and behold! it's stronger and more creative than ever!

I had a question about an idea that I've been tossing around for a few years. Is it possible to have FF5-style custom job sprites for story characters outside their native job? E.g., new costume for Ramza the Monk, or Agrias the Lancer? I realize that the actual spriting would be easy, if somewhat tedious (mostly head-swaps if one keeps it simple), but is it possible to code for this? If so, would it be unfeasibly difficult?

It is not possible, unless you had only a male and female unique character on the job wheel (would work some ideas...) And the rest would have to be "special sprites" In the end, it's not worth it for this idea.

I don't think there are enough sprite files to accommodate all the special units anyway.
