Favourite gaming villains?

I just beat Resident Evil 5 - I've only played 4 and 5 so I had no previous knowledge of Wesker (excluding his appearance in Resi 4's 'Seperate Ways' and Mercenaries)...but damn, he's epic.

Last I checked, Kefka couldn't catch a rocket in his hands or use sunglasses as an effective CQC weapon.

Well, Wiegraf is one of my favorites, though I'm not sure if he can be considered a villain until his possessed by Belias/Velius.

Golbez from Final Fantasy IV is a great villain,  a very tragic character, but redeeming himself in the end.

For an MMO villain, Shiro Tagachi had an awful lot of back story to his motivations, and by the end of the story campaign you felt sorry for him.

I'm a sucker for the "loyal bad guy who turns into a good guy" bit.  Of those, Palpaleos of Bahamut Lagoon is my fave <3, but General Leo and Izlude are kin.  

Pure villainy?  Luca Blight.

I have to say GLaDOS. There is something to be said for a computer that grows an urge to kill you while the game progresses.

Kuja and Kelfka are my favorite 2. As the story progressed in both those games, you actually started to hate them as much as the main characters did. I was so happy after kicking Kuja's ass in FF9.

Gabriel Celesta (Indalecio?) from Star Ocean the second story.

My really first time getting raped from the final boss battle... never experience it from other games.

and i have to agree with philsov about pure villains.

Saruin form the Romancing Saga game. (Did i spell Saruin right...?)
One of the hardest final boss i seen.

But i aslo like Kefka.

This is going to seem Horribly generic, but I'm going to say Ganondorf from the Legend of Zelda series, but more specifically Wind Waker Ganondorf, I feel they did a great job to make him a sympathetic and tragic villian in that game.

I dug Goldark from Dragon Force.  While seeming to be the typical warlord baddie in the other 7 storylines, when you play through his storyline you gain a huge insight into his personality and actions.

Close second for me is Legna from Drakengard 2. You don't even find out he is the ultimate villain until the second playthrough. That and up until you discover his betrayal he has been your best friend.

The Dark Savant from Wizardry 8 is one of my favorites.  You only see him once before the final battle, but he shows up just to insult your party, and it's pretty cool who he turns out to be.

Many will disagree that he's a villain, but I love hating Delita the most of any video game character.

Because Delita is actually...EVIL. Likes to control anyone. (Including Ramza)
And he say that line that totally changed my view of Delita the frist time i played :

Speaking of Algus, he is one villian I have found it incredibly easy to hate.  He plays a great douchebag.
