Oh, and in 12 I hardly ever used gambits, for the most part it was everyone attacks the same target, and Fran uses Curaga when anyone is below half HP. Was quite tough considering Zodiark. I've yet to go for Omega XII, as I wanted to do him last, but I couldn't find Larva Eater (the last rare game) and gave up.

Quote from: "Mental_Gear"Well, yeah, the FFs are really hard in PLACES but otherwise very easy.

The ones I've played...

1 - nothing really stands out yet
7 - same as above
10 - first and second seymour battles, and final boss (though they can circumvented easily, Rikku Wakka and Lulu with Overdrive ready can pretty much anhiliate anything)
10-2 - really damn easy. You could over-level without trying, the final boss was a cakewalk and I NEVER did extra grinds, you just levelled up mad fast.
12 - Rescuing Basch, a couple of later hunts
Tactics - Wiegraf / Velius
Crisis Core - A couple of particularly tough bosses, mainly Genesis at Modeoheim and Angeal Penance, but only on 'hard' (if you can even call it that) mode.

I recommend you guys try Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King. It provided quite a challenge throughout.

i actually have this game and i sleeped through all the battles since they are ubberlly easy, i'm going through the last remnant...this game it seems that has no end (day 15 playing) no game i played before has taken this long o.o

Last remnant? the durability of this made me want to know more about that game...

My friend let me borrow his game till i beat the game. Yeah this is a bit more chalenging that most FF's. An particular boss given me alot of troble..can't remember this boss name. Well...That the boss you fight in the *Other world* and is actually a large colorfull bird...she was VERY mean.

Excluding end game dungeons and Weapons.

FF1 - This can be hard as you can go directly to incredibly hard parts of the game from the start.  I learned from that mistake, though.
FF5 - I don't remember any particularly hard parts.
FF6 - The city of Zozo had random encounters about every two tiles which got me killed a few times.
FF7 - Don't remember any hard spots.
FF8 - Same.
FF9 - Same.
FF10 - Seymour II and Yunalesca the first time through.
FF12 - I got to Exodus way too early in the game and got my booty handed to me, also rescuing Basch was a little hard.
FFT - Dorter I, Weigraf III, Velius, Riovanes Rooftop, Outside Limberry.  But after learning how to manipulate FFT, every battle is easy.  Except Dorter I, lack of items and abilities(auto-potion) at that point and Dilly and Algy AI make that battle still annoying.

FF6 had no real "hard" battles, though it did have some cheap ones.

Ultros 1 could one-shot Bannon and end your game at no fault of your own.

The Fanatic's Tower sucked too. The end boss of this dungeon is probably the roughest in the game already, but he also uses a party wide instant kill attack on death. The only way to survive it is to be ridiculously over leveled or have access to life 3/reraise. Of course there's no way to know this beforehand, so you could easily go through this hour long dungeon and 15 minute boss fight having no way to actually beat him.

EDIT: Zozo had battles every 4 tiles, not 2 :O

Well...if you make him defend you survive actually.

@ Kaijyuu - 2 is about 4.  Anyway, you get my point.  The first few times being there really sucked, however later, when you wanted to level up, it was decent for a good amount of experience at a certain level.

FF12 has some difficult Hunts. Yiazmat was a pain because he had 50 million HP (no kidding, 50 million for real) and max damage you could do was 9999 and once you lowered his HP to 1/3 6999 or 6666 I don't remember. And the colosseum was full of traps and stuff... it took me 6 hours with Vaan, Fran and Ashe all lvl 97 and the best weapon possible (a dark elemental ninja sword which also had me going back and forth 2 screens for 2 hours to get some rare Bomb monster to drop it).

That and getting Tidus, Rikku and Wakka to 255 of every stat except luck which was 150 and beat all the Dark Aeons is the most extreme I think I did for any game. A 150hrs FFXII file with all the hunts finished, many secret ultimate weapons and also Omega MKXII beaten, and a 120hs max stat, full sphere grid FFX. Other things like beating all the weapons in VII, VIII and IX are minor stuff compared to that.

Also, I never finished FFVI (played it the whole way through till the final dungeon and rescued all lost party members 3 times). The final dungeon needed 3 teams of 4 party members each, and I couldn't be bothered to train even one team.

Yiazmat was long. Hard? Nowhere near.

Yeah it was and endurance, the opposite of Omega MKXII. Also in XII many hunts got harder when you got them near 1/3 HP or 1/4 HP. They got more defense, more power, started using secret attacks and so on. That worried me because I knew I still had like 2 hours left... imagine if you're fighting some monster for 6 hours and before defeating it, it uses a secret attack or you step into a trap or RNG fucks you and you lose... I'd send my PS2 flying through the window and then I'd follow it.

Easily the best lol I've had all day.  Thanks, Sephy.
