is it possible to edit the maps?

i have a couple idea rattling around in the ole cabasa but in order to possibly realise a couple i would have to edit the maps i mean if i wanted to recreate a map from another game or anime is even remotely possibe or
am i screwed

While possible, it would be very incredible hard. Check out the Hacking thread for the Map editing topics by Gomtuu, with his map editing tools.

This site does not have any experience map editors other than a few experiments.  If you can get good at map editing, you could be quite a valuable resource.
