1.3029 problem

is it possible to make FFT 1.3029 work properly on a PS2? I burned a disc to play on the console and the games freezes when I target something
Need something useful to write here

nope.

In order to play any burned game on a PS2, you'll need a mod chip or flip top or harddrive or something.

But even then it won't play because of some of the hacks put on there.  13026 was the last playstation-capable version.  

imo just get a USB gamepad (<$20) to avoid dirty keyboard playing.  Does wonders for all emulated games, really.

For some the issue may not be control but the computer's lack of processing power, as mine is.

Actually, is it known WHY the ASM hacks stop it working?

even with a gamepad, I dont like playing the game on the emulator,it looks weird,the 3D looks far different on the PC,it looks very clear compared to the sprites,and I used to play 1.3027 on the console

Same reason pSX freezes on some ASM hacks, and same reason the PSP Built-in PSX Emulator freezes with ASM Hacks.

im not to clear, but i think its because of LBA sizes and several other factors(code not fully supported in some older playstations or such, while epsxe forces itself to run the code through any odd errors, or handles code exceptions, the actual playstation is not built to have built-in work arounds to force code to be read correctly)

LBA sizes are a lists of offsets and sizes for each file. meaning if an ASM hack uses new lines, even ones that are filled with blank space, it gets bigger and is not the correct size anymore. The playstation could also detects this, and freeze, even though the files actual size didnt get any bigger. EPSXE forces it to read and ignore the LBA limits, and just reads from total file size, rather than space used size.

The last one is fixable, but it would have so much trouble...testing discs and dong it again and again with each release :/

I was emulating FFT in 2003.  I think I had no video card, <1 gig processor, and 256 MB Ram.

Any computer with a working power supply should be able to handle FFT.
