I was going to say he should probably just replace that darker yellow with an even darker one.

The second belt is definitely better. But you really shouldn't be maxing out your colors Kagebunji, I think there is some room for some color consolidation.

On the upper end you should have:
Skin Tone: 4
Green hair and cloths: 4
White for eyes: 1
Transparent Black: 1

That leaves 6 colors for shoes, belts, and whatever else. Not that whatever you are using for the darkest tone of stuff, black, should be able easily shared.

I found leftovers from base sprite, so now I have few colors left. Btw, could someone tell me why this is occuring(I'm pointing at her arm)?

You may have her inserted as a wrong type. What was her base? Her type would be the same as that base. So, if it was based off a type 2 sprite, it can only be inserted over a type 2 sprite.

why aren't you testing in shishi? you won't have a background bothering you, you can choose any animation you want, and fuck it's faster.

Are you sure you have the right sprite type?

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)

<Raijinili> remember that? it was awful

Balmafula(base) was type2 and hair is from type1, this shouldn't be a problem, yes?

I tried testing in shishi, but I prefer in-game testing.

Nah, it's not a problem. The only thing, I've seen, that is different would be how the arms and head are handled. If it's just hair, you're likely attaching it to the head that's ready to go. Shishi's great with filtering out all the easy mistakes.

The belt is ok on the right, but maybe look at the squire belt, give it a buckle or something.

Oh yeah I was also going to say, look at other belts on other sprites to see how they are shaded. Dycedarg, Olan etc etc. Also, about that last view you didn't like- I think it's fine. The only issue I have (and it mightn't even be your fault), is that there is kind of a thick outline around the hair. Other than that, this has been very solid. Hardly anything to really crit.

Had a crack at a few areas that seemed excessively outlined on these 2 poses. Hardly changed anything at all. Back tail thingies on the diag, hair+shoes on the other. Are you aware that you have a dark purple as part of this palette? If you got rid of that you might be able to slot in a darker yellow. That way you can avoid this unusual situation where you are using a dark green as part of your yellow palette. It's surprising how unnoticable this is at any rate.

There is possibility that there are many other colors that were unused, probably leftovers from base. Those thingies on her back is cape, it should be divided in two as in original so I did this.

Yeah you did it pretty well for the most part too. I actually though it was part of the original. Maybe that was what you werent happy with for the back view? You could try to make it look like they curve a little more. I will say this: it wont be easy.

Yeah this is still looking good. Belt is fine. Just copy what the other belts do and you'll be right. Only thing I have to say about this is that there is some red/brown patches up in the middle of her head that don't look like they should be there.

To me it looks like there's too much brown on her mouth for the second singing pose. This is compounded by the fact that the top part of her bosom is also shaded brown. Lighten it around the lips and it should be okay.

You're doing great, by the way.

I tested walking animations already, only one bug that is fixed appeard. But I tried inserting her in type 2 (where she supposed to be), and sprite changed, it was supposed to be Rydia (Rydia replaced summoner female), I setted up class, sprites and all, but instead of Rydia there was some floating Squire (any equipment equiped didn't have initial:float), WTF is wrong?

Maybe it has the wrong palette address in FFTpatcher.

here's how I tested mine:
Tested it in the Mercenaries patch, in mandalia.
IN your case, replace the male Black mage or the Female Priest sprite.
or Lavian.
