Psychoanalysis is still an effective mean of psychology. Many psychiatrists/psychologists still use it today even if they don't agree with Freud's theories.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

Quote from: "Dokurider"Freudian Psychology is to Modern Psychology as Aristole is to Modern Science.

This is a bit off base. Aristotle was a philosopher, anything he wrote scientifically was on the five elements and causality. You could have made a much better comparison here.

QuoteAristotle was a philosopher, anything he wrote scientifically was on the five elements and causality.

On the contrary, Aristotle was the father of the kingdom-style organization of all forms of life.  Some things were a little off base, but the concept is still carried through to this day.  He also wrote a great deal on matters of physics.

The comparision is valid.
Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

QuoteI don't know the name of what I use, but I know it is effective.

What DO you do, exactly?  Like with the people in the channel.  Ink blots and pulled-off-to-the-side word associations seem a bit... cumbersome.

I never said invalid I meant to imply weak Though I get your meaning. I think Anaximander, Plato, or Protagoras would be better for that particular comparison.

Hmm, aren't Psychiatrists the one's with medical degrees (as in, they can prescribe drugs)? I believe the lot of you who consider yourself good at analyzing people should proclaim yourselves as good psychologists, if you're looking for entitlement. And if you just want to admit that that you can read people's behavior well, you should just say you're good at reading people's behavior. I respect your ability to recognize why people act certain ways at certain times with fair precision (I'm wording this like a weasel because no one here can always tell why every person does everything), but don't tote yourself as a psychiatrist or a psychologist or a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist.

P.S. I want to fuck my mom and kill my dad. Analyze me, heathens.

Less medical degree, but yes on the drugs bit.

In fact it's one of the great twitching phrases within people with those degrees.  I did it all the time to my psych major friends.  But then again pretty much all of us environmental science majors would twitch when anyone referred to us as environmentalists.  Calling soil "dirt" used to make my soil science prof so irate...
