I have finally found something out.

It will only freeze when someone is about to crystalllize. D:

I think it has something to do with the test, because when I find an item, it says "found" and then cuts off the item name at the first two letters. =\

No one's gonna help? =[

It happens very often in main storyline battles.

For some reason it seems like it only happens with battle involving people i've given custom sprites to?

Hmm...what did you edit?
Is it all relating to the storyline?
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Honestly in terms of storyline, all I did did was edit main character sprites and storyline battles.

And the freezing happens in battles where there wasn't any editing. =\

Oh..Hmm...Editing character sprites won't cause such problem, i think.
Freeze in battles....So as an attack is made, it freezed?
Does it freeze if you just leave it?

It freezes when i take an action, and even sometimes when I go to wait.

Oh...does it freeze when you didn't take action?
But still, its quite weird that it freezed in battle, especially non edited battles.
Hmm...Did you edit any text, like skillset, abilities...but i don't think that would be the problem.
How about text like events, storyline battle text?
Any major things that you edit?

I'm having the same problem and if its a text edit error, must be the unit names sections. Mine has been freezing about half an hour to an hour into playing, doesn't matter if I'm attacking, waiting, or even in a shop buying equipment. I've only changed a name in the text editor and gave the name to one of the starting generics.(the ones you get after the opening battle) Didn't change any of the sprites, abilities, jobs, or events.
Waiting for the PS3 FFXIV beta to begin.

If you mean event editing, I just started this last thursday, and haven't gotten that far into modding/hacking yet. =\

I hope it's not the text..., because I edited Job names, skillset names, ability names, description for those three, and unit names.

There's no point having a custom job if it's called, "Commoner"... ):

I just  deleted the name in every place I added it, repatched, and it is working fine now. Played it for about 2 hours straight without glitching, freezing, or crashing. I'm guessing its because I added a 5 letter name into a black space, added about 30 letters throughout the editing, and that went over the limit. So apparently the new text editor still has the character limit as the old one did, just doesn't show it anymore.

O_O   i didn't... know... there was... a text edit limit...

Does this have the opposite effect? Like, is there a minimum as well?

Ha, no. The game uses absolute addressing; it doesn't care how much free space is in between files.
The problem is, when you go over the original file size and any free space it might've had, it spills over into other things. Overwriting stuff that you don't want it to. Bad mojo.

Aha, so that's why my game was glitching up. Becuase I remember seeing "Move Find Item" as random words, O_o, which I'm assuming is what you mean by spilling over.

Well, I am using a different ability list for "Spellblade" which involves deleting the status effects and mp cost in the description. Should free up some text for me to use. =D
