jeez, can't believe i haven't seen this thread, yet!  as much as i don't really like the Bangaas from FFTA, it's conversion to FFT style really works.  i really like Vieras and even considered making one myself... but non-humans/demi-humans don't quite fit the old FFT, however... using them as a rare or special character would make sense. (Umaro + Mog come to mind).

i actually had an idea for a moogle.  i wanted to be able to change jobs, but i wanted it to be small.  i thought of maybe making it fly so i can keep the arms aligned, but then i just thought to branch off the job tree and give the moogle like 3 jobs only, don't let them equip weapons, (or only 1 type per job and add it in the sprite sheet).  i doubt i'll actually make it.

im sure ppl would have use for them... I myself do as i planned on making a "elemental crystal" enemy set lol

There's a Crystal sprite? Did I miss that somewhere? Or are you referring to the "Crystallized" party members?

no, but i think im gonna make one using the crystalized unit sprite parts, using the walking frames for the "spin" animation, and also giving it attacked/injured/dead frames so it can be used as a magic casting only job

I got several backup copies of everything I did to date, luckily. Im now taking a monthly break from college.


The only thing lost was Ms Paint(XP). I tried to get it running on 7 again, but gave up after a while. Im now forcibly trying to get used to Graphics Gale; quite better in a few aspects, but just too horrid for others.. (I hate layers, hard to organize stuff in a huge file like in paint, can't paste, changing background color a bitch, ect.)

Still, not too bad. My Eddie avi is the first pixel I've done in months, and a first in GG.

To sharpen the skill a bit, I took an old pixel I had lying around on my hard drive and revamped on it.

For those who remember, this was me just three months ago, dabbling with facial anatomy

And now me again, with just a few studies under my belt (Both in paper and pixel; I find pixels more rewarding though, for their difficulty factor. Studies can be as simple as drawing something from a ref on any medium)

This was also a study too, figuring out how to handle things with such exotic palletes makes perfect practice. Yeah, that purple was especially bothersome.

This looks good, but why, I ask, WHY you work with this soo much instead of sprites?!!?!?

Sprites are easy yet time consuming, and often require monotonous work, which my atention span hates. Thus limited to the same techniques and palletes.

Pixel art is anything and evrything else. Always something new to experiment and get better at it. And extremely rewarding in terms of skill.
