I actuly don't mind green day, linken park, or nickleback, they're just way over played/over hyped

I don't mind them either (ok, I despise nickelback, but that's another topic), but usually anyone who can honestly say "their radio single was so creatively inspired and spoke directly to me and only to me that I now worship every blade of grass they've stepped on" deserves to be shot.
