I did this for Jot5. It's fairly easy in eventing. Just add a unit in every battle with the same Unit ID (such as xD0) that isn't set to be present, and add the following commands (whatever they are in WotL) to each battle:

ZERO(x0000)
ADDVar(x0000,x????)
JumpForwardIfNot(xD0)
AddUnit(xD0,x00,x00)
WaitAddUnit()
ForwardTarget(xD0)

You can also use the ChangeStats commands to do things like increase their Bravery or starting CT, or reduce your units' HP (by a flat amount).

I would advise against reducing the amount of units that the player can bring into battle. General rule of fun increase of difficulty is to not take away things from the player (unless it just happens to be something absolutely broken, like TG Cid in the original release)

Yo my dude love the mod, just a quick question: I wanted to edit my Ramza job name/description etc, in the FFTacText with the FFTpatcher (recent version).

It won't open the game ISO after I patched it with your Tweaks patch and the optional patches I used: A2 magic and Undead, it gives me this error/window pop up when I try to open it in the fftactext editor

"Error loading file: Value does not fall within the expectant range"

I open a previous backup fftext file from a previous unpatched/modded vanilla version I had before and patched a test patched/modded game iso backup of it and it opens fine but reverts the text back to vanilla wotl with some funny text results but I don't want that haha.

Just wondering what the fix is to open the patched/modded original copy as I am simply editing Ramza's job name/description etc, which you named to Cadet but I wanted to change it to my tastes.

-Also came across another game breaking issue when it comes to the FFTPatcher: After I patch the unpatched game ISO with your tweak patch, I can edit sprites and it doesn't break the game everything runs fine.

However, when I edit classes in the FFTPatcher to whatever I need lets say I wanna add Crush Armor ability to Ramza's Cadet class, I save the patch onto the ISO and when I reboot the game, the Cadet class is changed back to Squire but it messes up the text for items with random letters/numbers. My guess is I cannot edit what you have done on the patch and it simply breaks text, etc. Which is a shame as I do want to play this mod but I can't if adding in game abilities to Ramza's class breaks the game. -

The mod on its own works well even if you change sprites but editing classes or trying to edit job names is impossible unfortunately.

If you don't have an answer for a solution to this problem I am having, that is fine, I will play vanilla as it all works there which is good but it does get boring though playing vanilla.

I love your mod, but my god...  You ruined the Elmdore Limberry Castle fight.  It is nigh unplayable unless you just quick focus Elmdore himself.  It's boring now.  I get what your intent was, but it's ridiculously pointless now to even go through the motions of the fight.  Might as well have made it a cutscene.  Majorly disappointing.

hi dude , i really loved ur mod , i thinking od modding it a litle for moore dificult , give moore skills for monsters and moore hp for then , i tryng to use ur mod as a base for my mod , then i learn what things like broken and stolen equips purschased on fur shop need ASM hack what only works for PSX , and i read yout modding tutorial ( i really thanks for u to share all your hardwork for the comunity) , but  i am new whit fft hacks and my english its not good , but i reading the instructions , i just stoped on vahalla wen u say runs wahala from the folder but i dont find the exe or aplication for run the program , cam u help me ?

It would be great if you add option for move-find item location pinpoint at battle.
And also melee or rendezvous are able to play offline/single player.

Is there any table with all class growths and multipliers for this mod? I keep only finding bits and pieces instead.

Thanks for it anyways, i've been playing chapter 1 and having a blast.

Also, i can't seem to use FFT Editor with it (i was trying to look that information i just asked), i just get the "could not load" error.

* Increase all enemy unit levels by some value, like 2, in ASM (and adjust the XP formula accordingly so you don't just levelup faster)
* Reduce the number of units the player is allowed to take into each battle by 1.
* Some combination of all of the above.

I love Hard mode, but please don't reduce the number of units. And yes please add more grinding factor.

I have played the game with and without the war of the lions tweak.

Without the tweak, I'm able to access all of the spells that my calculator knows: all of the white magic, black magic, etc.

However, when I have applied the patches/tweaks, I'm only able to see SOME of the spells my character knows. I'm not able to select the level 2 and level 3 spells that my character has already mastered.

I've tried to override the spells after I applied all the patches by using FFTweaker but it stops me from accessing the menus. I suspect this has to do with OP manipulating the location of spells? I tried using FFT tweaks before hand, but it just gets me to where I'm at now.

Is anybody else having this issue? Where in the codes can I find the spells that code them as things the calculator can use?

I don't believe that's a bug, but rather an intentional balance change. If flagging Math Skill on the Patcher doesn't get them working, I'm not sure what will. Tweak uses the Valhalla editor, which is a very useful tool, but it's abandonware and locks up some changes IIRC.

You can play multiplayer missions in this mod, yes (in multiplayer). Make sure both players are running the same version of the mod so you don't get out of sync. I think you can use two instances of PPSSPP, but I don't know how.

LionEditor (the save data editor) is compatible, and you can use it to put multiplayer items in your inventory or in the poachers' den (including multiple copies). Multiplayer items otherwise cannot be purchased in regular stores (which is why WOTL Tweak makes them all unique "discoverable" items in the campaign).

Stats can be min/maxed using levelup/leveldown tricks, yes. Using Onion Knight for leveldown will reduce the amount of stats lost, for further min/maxing. The next version (v2.60) though will make it so leveldown penalties are halved, so you can min/max quickly with any job.

It totally does. The next version of the mod will have spellcasters start with 25% MP instead of zero to help with this. Also, even though the mod has gone through several rounds of buffing spellcasting, I agree it's _still_ too weak compared to physical attacks and have been considering even more buffs.

So, when will the 2.6 version will come out? Didn't heard from you since 2024 and I REALLY love your mod

Any chance we could get an optional patch reverting Knight Swords back to being one-handed??? This is the one change from this mod that I simply just do not like. If it also rebalances them around being one handed that's fine.

Maybe if possible give them innate passive Doublehand when using them with an empty off hand. This is also something that generally makes sense to just be a passive thing for some other weapon types too. Like Spears and Poles. Rather than taking up a support ability slot.

I always imagined tactics Knight Swords being more of a Bastard Sword/true Longsword rather than being exclusively two-handed where as standard Sword is either a Shortsword or your usual Arming Sword meant to be used in a single hand (though that being said the Platinum Sword is depicted as bastard sword size in official artwork of Chapter 2 and 3 Ramza wielding it, and Ramza equipped with the Platinum Sword weapon skin in Dissidia NT)

I am attempting to do the single player rendevous missions, but it is searching for another player and fails. I have been trying to find a guide for things to check off to make it work for ppsspp through Steam Deck. I have enable wifi and ad hoc turned on via the emulator, but it still fails to find a player. At least it doesn't say I am not connected still. What do I still need to do to get it working?
